Really Much Nicer Than I Expected - But Expect to Restart It Every Other Day
First, I was offered one of these to test, but I went ahead and bought one instead.FAQ:1. Do You Need an Apple Device to use this?NO - there is an iHealth Android app (actually two of them - android devices are all different from each other, so use the one that works best for your device)2. Does it come set to kilograms?NO - mine didn't, but I bought it myself new from Amazon.3. How's battery life? It's okay. The Bluetooth is on for just a second or two at a time (when you weigh yourself with the phone on next to you). I'm not a fan of AAA in bluetooth devices, but if you are concerned you can mitigate with rechargeables.4. Is pairing hard? Not if you read the instructions. It's actually easier than it should be, which is what makes it hard.5. Do you need the phone to weigh yourself?NO - my husband just steps on the scale and reads his weight in pounds. UPDATE - sometimes, you have to pull the batteries to get it to do this. Because this is a pain, I deducted one star.I bought this because, while my husband is not too heavy for most scales, he is big and tall with big feet. For him, getting on most bathroom scales is like trying to dance on the head of a pin. And forget trying to see the numbers.I thought it might be helpful for him to read the verdict on his smartphone, but he can see past his feet on this one.The scale is accurate - or, at least, it agrees exactly with my rheumatologist's scale and the scale in the hospital infusion room. Unlike either of my other scales, the weight reading doesn't change if you move the scale an inch one way or another, even though my floors are not perfectly level. This is a heavy duty well built scale for a consumer model. The app seems okay - sometimes I wonder about all my information being in the cloud - especially personal biometrics, but it's there anyway. I have lupus. My doctors are forever checking stuff and typing it into the ether. And, hey, my BMI is AOK.

Tested for use with elderly population
This device offers good usability + readability and I didn't have any of the problems that others describe with the app, which may be because I got a newer version of iHealth Vital Signs 2.0. I also had no connectivity problems once I understood to start the app, put one foot on the scale, look for the green connect light on the app, and then step on with two feet. Done. I stop short of a whole hearted recommendation as I'd prefer a passive feedback system where there was no user interaction required with the app in order to get the bluetooth data from the scale to the mobile device. That seems like the next frontier as no device that I've tested works that way. It might work better if the app used a simple ding sound like text in order to confirm that the connection is live and ready for data.

Works well. It took a couple of tries to connect with my phone the first time. But I did get it connected. And if someone else in the household uses the scale it does not download the information to my phone when I connect to the scale. So that means the family can use the scale but It only transmits to the phone when you are on the scale. And does not send prior data.

Good but ...
I thought the scale would log my weight on the app with out having me go into the app on my phone. It is annoying that I have to be longed in to sync it. Other than that it works well.

The Bluetooth app is nice when it works but it crashes about 25% of the time I use the scale. I have to kill the app or the scale won't work at all every few days. The most disappointing aspect is that the is the worst battery life product I have ever seen. I am one person weighing myself once every morning. The batteries only lasts 3-4 weeks. Doesn't matter what brand of batteries I buy, this is a power hog. Shouldn't be considered a battery operated device when batteries need replacement every 25-30x the scale is used. That's insane!

Stay away!
I bought the blood glucose meter with strips, the blood pressure monitor, and the scale. Big mistake! The BP and scale are in one app, and the blood glucose is in an entirely different and unconnected app. Could not get the scale to work in lbs, it only works in kilos. Bluetooth on the scale refused to connect. The BP monitor and blood glucose meter require a USB cable (provided) to charge, but does not allow alternative connection to the app on the computer. Now that I read the other reviews there may even be an issue of unreliable measurements. Stay away from this company, they are a mess.

It is remarkably large and beautiful. But the measurement need to be improved. The worst part is the Bluetooth connection. It just depends on your luckโฆ

Won't be dissapointed.
This product is awesome. It does what I need. So easy to set up and uploads my details in an instant. Great look, great design and very accurate. Sometimes I wish it wasn't. But really great. Gonna buy another for a family member.
