Excellent Lifetime Quality Watch
Nov 13, 2013I just received it, set it, and put it on. It meets my expectations, and the price at $59 plus tax is very good. I also have the all gold version of this watch, and really like the shape, the legibility of the day-date, and the luminosity. Like my gold one, I didn't have to adjust the band, so it will undoubtedly be too small for a lot of men. With this steel version, I won't have to worry about the gold wearing off (not a big problem with the other one; see my review).

Super pleased.
I was looking for a clean, somewhat dressy watch that I could wear under any circumstance. I've found it. This watch looks great on the wrist, is incredibly light and very easy to read. What more could you ask for? Setting the date and time was a breeze. The watches only fault is that it occassionally catches arm hair while in use. But honestly, that's probably more of my arm's fault than the watch. This watch is a great first buy for anyone looking to upgrade the accessories in his wardrobe.

Nice Watch!
It has been years since I have worn anything but cheap battery operated quartz watches. They keep good time, but lack a style associated with quality time keepers. I bought this watch based on the Seiko brand reputation and I was not disappointed. It is not a $5000 Rolex, but it is a good watch that I got at a good price. Very satisfied!

15 minutes a day!
It looks good, easier to see when I don't have the glasses on, too bad that it only worked for a year, 15 minutes faster for one day.It became garbage!

Defective piece. Highly disappointed with Seiko.
Purchased this watch after doing lot of re-search as I wanted something decent without spending too much. I liked it when it arrived and it looked nice and all that but shortly after I crossed the return deadline it started giving problems. I don't know if it stops without me noticing it or just loses time continuously but I have to adjust it by 15-20 minutes every day. Called the customer service and it seems I will have to send it to Mahwah, NJ for the repair for which I will have to bear the shipping cost of course. In this age of Six Sigma I am surprised that a company like Seiko can manufacture and sell defective items like this. Very disappointed.Update: Had to send my watch for repair to Mahwah so spent another $5 something that. Looks like they were able to fix the time but the date and day setting is messed up. Don't want to spend another $5 to get that fix so I will live with it till I can afford a new and better one. Next time no Seiko for me.

Time slows after 2 years
I've had this watch since Sept 2013. This is a review based on my 2+ years experience. Initially, I loved this watch. I needed one with date and day on it and being automatic is definitely a plus. It's good looking as in a mature way. The stainless steel finish is of a matted look so no shine. I didn't want something shiny anyway. It does get scratches over time with daily use but so does other watches I've had. However, after 2 years, I've had to weekly adjust the time because it'll get slow by at least 5 minutes. It's disappointing that this is not the long term watch I've been searching for. After adjusting it for a year, it has become annoying and the watch is no longer reliable. I'm going to replace it.Sum of my 2+ years of experiences:Looks: 5 stars-it looks as its picturedDesign: 5 stars-it has date and day display, time easy to seeLong term reliability and function: 2 stars-time has fail on this piece as it often slows and I find myself verifying time on the watch. It's sad that I can't trust this watch anymore

Absolutely great for what you pay, only downside is the bracelet
Should have give it 4 stars, but the price is just so damn low for what you get. Why did I buy this piece? Because it has that Gerald Genta look I really like (AP RO,IWC INGENIEUR) for a fraction of the price. How you look/feel its cheap-The bracelet is really cheap and not well build (but hey what did you expect for that price). It also constantly pulls out hair of my arm?-no glass but kind of plastic cover-the movement feels like you could break it when you adjust the time

Sweet timepiece
Great watch. The Seiko 5 is in many ways the perfect “first” automatic. Its simple face and day/date complications make for an easy pairing with about any strap- it’s a simple change, too. Glows in the dark at night.

Lovely Watch
Product quality fabulous with the only critique being that this model is almost impossible to change out the strap to a leather one or whatever else might tickle your fancy due to the lug size. As for the retailer, delivered as promised with no problems at all.

Semplicemente bellissimo!
Orologio bellissimo!

Kaufempfehlung!

Miss described
Very dissapointed as the Watch was described as Quartz and it turned out to be an Automatic. I thought might as well keep it at least It wont need batteries. Wore it for a week then did not use it for 2 days and realised the watch runs out after not being used for about 26 hours. Next time I go to a proper jewellers where I can examine it first!Seiko Men's Quartz Watch with Black Dial Analogue Display and Silver Stainless Steel Bracelet SNKK47
