Freestyle STEP Deluxe Dumbbell

This review is for people like me who have been looking for the right Les Mills equipment without paying those Les Mills prices. I love Les Mills and do nearly every workout they offer, but I could never justify spending so much money on their equipment, even though I've used it at a live event and recognize that it is truly special and superior.I don't know how it took me so long to find this option, but I am so glad that I did. If you do Pump or any of the other strength-based Les Mills workouts, this is the best alternative available. The quality is high, and you can change the resistance quickly as often required in the LM workouts.I have to say, since purchasing these, I'm even more excited to workout. That's how much of a game-changer these have been.Some notes:*While the weight-plate design lends itself to easy handling for rows and overhead presses, I have found it difficult to find a comfortable grip for curls and any plate-centric chest maneuver.*I love that this set comes with four different weight levels - that's better than most on offer. I wish this company made a plate between the 11.5 and 22 they offer, as I would like that for some individual plate work. But, I do plan to order the 22-lb plates directly from the company (wish they offered them through Amazon).*I've had this set for about six weeks. It arrived quickly, in perfect condition, and because the bar comes apart, I am able to store it all very easily near my little workout area in the apartment.Again, this is the best alternative to the official Les Mills equipment. Yes, I had the chance to use LM equipment at a live event and it is amazing (especially having that centrally placed grip for plate work)! But I am in love with this equipment and am so grateful to have found it before making another wrong-headed purchase. Highly recommend.

Ordered this to do Bodypump at home, and it's a great set for home workouts! Of course I'd rather have an olympic style barbell but I don't have the space or money to get a nice big rig and weight plates for all my weightlifting dreams, so this is a great set for low-weight-high-rep style workouts and honestly, it does the job.The other day I noticed that the bar itself was starting to unscrew (the bar is actually 3 pieces screwed together), so just make sure they're screwed on tight before each workout. I do a lot of clean and presses so the twisting of the bar is natural. Is it perfect? No, but it's a great value and gets the job done.

It's a good set and jus the right weights for me. Make sure you tighten the bar every now and then. It does come loose where it's screwed together.

I was looking for a set that allowed me to do "Body Pump" style workouts at home (for myself and my teen daughter) and this set is VERY similar to the sets I used at my gym. The lightweight bar comes in 3 parts (for easier storage/shipping) that screw together with 2 clips to secure plates on each end. This set comes with a total of 4 pairs (8 total) of sand filled plates, with each pair a different weight (2.75lb, 5.5lb, 8.25lb & 11lb) for a total of 55lb. I have been using this set for about a month a it meets my needs perfectly. Of note is when the set arrived, one of the plates was missing. The package came with a number to call if something was missing or broken (rather than return to Amazon). Due to COVID, there was a slight delay in obtaining the missing plate, but after following up with the company, the missing plate arrived and I couldn't be happier with this purchase. I do own Olympic weights (the metal ones) and purchased this because they are quieter when I lift while my children are sleeping. I did read some reviews that worried that the plates are sand-filled, but the plastic appears sturdy enough that the set will last for many years of regular/daily use. If you are looking for a weight set and don't lift more than 55lb, this set is for you. Again, this is the perfect "Body-Pump" set for home.
