Friend has been missing skiing at Vail for 12 days now and I believe if he had a RECCO device on he would have been found day 1. Please note he wasn't skiing in the backcountry, he was in the resort boundaries. After hearing thiis I purchased a RECCO for myself and all my family members. I did research and found that Colorado has detectors and I would imagine most states do.
