For example: Salt (NaCl) is an ionic bond that consists of Sodium (Na) which is a metal with positive charge combines with Chlorine (Cl), a nonmetal with a negative charge. So perhaps this product works well to protect ones hair in the ocean and in the pool?

It can be used in damp or dry hair. If you go to the products actual website, it states this.

Q: Is this product safe for extensions?

I would think if it’s safe for your hair, it would also be safe on extensions, human hair particularly. You might roll the dice on synthetic hair. Good luck😇
