Pick this one. I’m satisfied. Good glide.
I was worried it wouldn’t live up to the one that I had used decades ago, which was sturdy. I read the comments and kept checking for weight of product, hoping that something that weighed a little heavier would be strong. I bought the longest one they offered, and was happily surprised that it has holes in it that allow you to adjust it. I think it’s a quality product and a good price point.

For adults get the 7.5ft, for kids, the 6ft
So first off, I don't play hockey, or skate that much, but I do know how. The purpose of the slide board for us is lateral leg strengthening, balance, and cardiovascular fitness. It is one component of a multi-sport exercise regimen. I picked this board because people said it was good quality, and the price was right for the quality reviews. The quality of the product is good- it needs to have weights on it the first few days it is out of the box because it curls up, but that settles down. The surface is low friction, and the booties make sliding easy. You need to wear shoes with the little bootie covers because the bumpers on the board become uncomfortable for bare feet to hit after a few slides. I bought the 6 ft (actually 5'7" between the bumpers) and it was too small. I am 5'10, my friend is 6'2, we both felt constrained by the short distance before the opposite bumper. Missed some of the force otherwise required to get to the far side, and reduced the workout on the legs. Another 1-2 feet to push and it would be perfect as a fitness tool. Returning for the 7.5ft item, same price. Smaller people/kids, people who don't skate often, or those working on balance technique may be fine with the smaller board. I don't know if the short distance between the bumpers would be better for someone training for hockey, when short strokes on the skates and stick handling technique matters most- but like i said, that's not what I do. I would imagine if you are in hockey enough to want one of these, a coach could give guidance on the right distance.

Dangerously flimsy
The fenders on the slide board I was sent look nothing like those pictured on the product page. Instead of thick plastic blocks, they're a very thin L-shape that bends and shifts each time your foot strikes them. This is made even worse by the fact that they're poorly fixed to the board. The board has three variable length adjustments, the longest of which is secured by three bolts with washers. The shorter two however, only have two points to attach the bolts. Without the middle bolt, the flimsy plastic fenders bend even more.I can't imagine the board lasting more than a handful of uses before the fenders break, or the board itself tears under them. You could maybe get away with using it for a child or a very small adult, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Like swishing in socks.. not so great
For a cheap board this one was a little on the expensive side so I hoped it would be better than the most basic. I like that it has four different lengths, but the longer lengths are impractically far. The material is like any basic plastic and not terribly slippery even after I sprayed it with pledge. I have heard from real speed skaters that they use women's nylon stockings instead of the booties and I think that will be more slippery. The booties that came with it tended to bunch up for me which is another reason I will try nylons. I do like that it comes with hand mitts for other exercises and I can see this board being useful for non skating style exercises like pushups and shoulder circles. The lack of ability to slide in a skating move also really hurts my knees and ankles more than it should because a lot of pressure is put on joints when you're not actually sliding. Definitely not like rollerskating or close to what you see when people use good slide boards.Like another reviewer mentioned, I also got a model that does not look like the pictures. The ends are flimsier and generally it is less comfortable to use than the more rounded design shown in the photos. For adjustment there are two bolts and four sets of holes. The wrench is taped on the inside of the box so don't miss that. It also comes with a foam strip to protect your floors from the screw backs.Overall this is a good board to see if you will stick with it or you need portability and are pretty strong to get a slide going, but you will quickly graduate to a more expensive board.
