A well featured jacket.
When two of my Winter jackets that I mainly use for shopping, and light recreational use, gave problems with the zippers, I had to find an alternative. I looked at a number of options with little success, but this showed promise and doesn't disappoint. I wanted something water resistant, wind tolerant and warm with a good lining, and with zip pockets, A point on sizing. I would normally go for a medium, and I find this to be fine for say a thermal T shirt, shirt and jumper underneath, which is fine for my current UK Winter use. But if you want another layer underneath for colder conditions then a bigger size will probably be best, I think it really depends what you want it for. The main zipper works well both up and down, but I found that keeping the zipper straight by pulling the jacket down at the bottom, works best. The zipper toggle connector is a little fiddly until you get used to it. Three zip outer pockets, and one left inner, are all zippered, and are roomy enough for most things that I need to carry. The zips on the pockets work well. The zip detachable hood is a good idea, though it can be tricky to get back on until you get used to doing it. The hood fleece lining is warm and attaches at the chin with Velcro strips. When attached and down, the hood is unobtrusive and sits comfortably without being bulky. When up, there is enough room for a hat underneath (something like a beanie or a cap) which is handy when it's cold, and there are draw strings to pull it tauter if required. The main zipper comes up to the chin. there is also a flap with a pop connector at the top and bottom with two Velcro connectors in between which keeps the main zipper weather protected. The jackets come folded in a plastic bag, and there has been some mention in reviews about creasing. I found that many of these creases came out after washing and ironing, (though not entirely), but in use this isn't an issue for me as they only blend with normal wear creasing and isn't really noticeable. I feel that these jackets probably lean more towards practical use anyway, rather than the fashionable, (for which you would have to pay a lot more) although they are casually smart enough for general use. I'm impressed wit these jackets, and there has obviously been plenty of thought put into the design of them. They are well designed and featured jackets for anything like the asking price.

Excellent
I have waited a while before reviewing this as I was waiting to get caught in the rain, which I now have. This is a seriously warm and toasty jacket. It is winter here and i have been out in the cold multiple times with only a t shirt on underneath and I cannot feel the cold at all. It works extremely well in the rain, got caught in very heavy shower and no problems at all. The hood is excellent and also very warm. I am 66 and this is the best winter jacket I have ever had. My only complaint, if you could call it that are the pockets. Though the side hand pockets are excellent the inside one should be bigger and vertical not horizontal. The outside pocket should be bigger with a longer zip. There actually should be more pockets. I believe that the overall price is very good and all in all this is an excellent product. I just hope that it lasts for a long time.

Good Warm Weather Proof Jacket
I've worn this Tacvasen jacket through the winter and I'm quite pleased with it, and now willing to review it. Conclusion: Keeps the rain out, and warm to wear in strong biting cold winds.I walk my dogs every day for a couple of miles at 7-8am on the top of a raised walkway between two dykes in the flat fenlands. It's VERY exposed to the weather. When I leave my house in the village I feel the temperature and remind myself that on the dyke it will always feel 2-5 degrees colder and much more windy!I like the size of the hood. I usually wear a woolen beanie hat and can pull the hood over this to give extra warmth and protection. The lugs and velcro tabs which wrap around your throat/chin are easy to do up, and I love the soft inner furry/fleece lining. The hood surrounds my face nicely, not too far out as to restrict my side to side vision, but enough to provide some protection, and there are pull cords to tighten the hood if necessary.I think the size of the inside coat pocket and the breast pocket are a little mean, the openings are a tad small making it difficult to insert/remove items quickly (wallet/phone), and the inner pocket in particular could do with being a little bit wider/deeper. The main hand pockets are a decent size for storing my gloves, hat and hands!I like the style and trim of the jacket, quite smart. I've been caught in quite a few rain showers and snow storms. I like the main quilted furry/fleecy inner lining, its got a really decent thickness to it and overall I've always felt warm, dry and cozy. The sleeves are silky inner lined which makes putting your arms in easier. I've not had any problems with zips sticking or breaking. All in all I'm really pleased with its windproofness and warmth when I really batten down the hatches. Now that spring is here I'm going to miss wearing it so much because it gets quite hot in milder weather after a brisk walk, unless I really open it up.Would be a five star if the pockets are improved slightly.

Incredible value
This coat, at this price point, is incredible.I was not expecting much when I bought this. I thought it would be a somewhat flimsy shell that might do the job with a sweater.I was wrong. The quality in the construction is there. The fleece inner is very effective. I went for a walk in almost 0 degree temperatures in a t-shirt and this coat and I was toasty. The hood has a velcro strap to help secure it around your chin and it works. My only criticism is that the space around the armpits is a tad snug if you wear anything substantial under the coat. For this reason alone, I would consider going a size up based off their size chart if you are on the larger side.Very happy with this coat and frankly amazed it is this good for this price.
