i used this to replace the cover on my walker seat. the old one was scratched up by the cats so i decided to try this. i replaced it and it is smooth and for some reason the cats don't bother it. i also use it to put the pots i cook in on so i don't have to hold them while walking across the room and they don't burn or get marred at all.

I bought for my child's fashion design class b/c my child wants to make a leather dress and I thought this would be less expensive than leather. I agree with other reviewers that the creases created by the folding before the product is shipped are "permanent." We couldn't figure out a way to make the creases go away. I also agree that the product arrives with quite a pungent chemical smell. On the other hand, the price is reasonable for a kid's fashion design class and the product feels nice. It is, though, very difficult to sew, even with a sewing machine. It's thick and not super silky, so it gets a bit stuck and my child needs an adult's help to get the sewing machine going again. My hunch is that's not a fault of the product, just the nature of the product. I have NOT had any other experience sewing leather or faux leather, so I have nothing to compare it to. Definitely would recommend for a design class where a piece of clothing might be made and worn ONCE at the class' fashion show. I can't quite imagine my child wearing the clothing on a regular basis -- it's fairy thick and probably not super comfortable to wear as an entire dress. Would work very well on accent pieces, though -- and if the accent piece were small enough, you could avoid seeing the fold creases.

Needed a simple brown faux leather to make a belt for a Jedi cosplay, this fabric was perfect. It's got a even dark brown color with no texture and is thin and easy to manipulate, I folded it it around a foam strip base and it was stiff but still flexible enough to be wrapped around my waist. I had some trouble using contact cement on either side but the leather side took super glue well and the fabric side took the fabric spray adhesive loctite with no issues. Cutting the fabric was also easy to do with basic scissors. There was quite a bit of fabric so I'll have plenty for future projects.

This product is what it is advertised as. The photo is accurate and I love the color. I've yet to make anything with the material but it seems to be exactly what I need.

It works good for my purposes. I put it in an area that no one would really see to cover a hole inside a cabinet however it did have a smell to it.
