My Boomer father has been getting back into amateur radio and slowly piecing together his latest and greatest setup. Bought this on a whim based on the glowing and reviews and wow, you would have thought I taught the guy how to walk or something. He will not shut up about how it's his new favorite keyer and "even sticks to his desk" better than his more pricey keyers. Apparently, he was up all night and into the early morning hours today dotting and dashing to whoever wherever in the world with it and it held up well. I can't give an actual radio operator's expert opinion, but if you're snagging this for a birthday or Father's Day gift; you might just become the number 1 child for a few with this item ;)

It’s small, but it’s a really good quality telegraph key made in China. If you need one of these, get it now. The trade war will certainly cause the price of ham radio equipment to go up.

I'm satisfied with the product; and am able to adjust it to my liking. However, the electrical contact was quite intermittent. I put a cloth between the contacts and burnished them, which improved it but didn't completely fix it. Then I put some contact cleaner/dressing on it (Dexoit D100L) and now it works perfectly.

I really appreciate this little hand key. It's a real pleasure to use. Very high quality and solid construction. It even has ball bearings on the main pivot points. For the money a real deal.

Size is small but build is great.

I have a nice iambic key but wanted to play around with a straight key without investing close to $200 and this key takes care of it. The spring is really stiff as others have pointed out and I like the round keying knob although it is too small to appreciate. It doesn't seem to move around and since I do not have any straight key skills, I cannot comment on how well it works for those who do. I pull it out every now and then and just run through the alphabet.

I have to say, I like the look, feel and overall function of this key, however there is one fatal flaw. The spring is acting as part of the key circuit. When set loose there will be inconsistent conductivity between the ground for the key and the center contact. This could easily be resolved by adding a from ground to the key to ensure proper grounding.
