Must have
It my must have for the spring soil preparation. Weight less than vermiculit or perlit so its very important for hanging baskets. In my other conteiner plants its add air to the soil. And helps keep water in the soil.So I buy it every year for the new garden seasoon.

Great as mulch or for adding to soil for extra drainage!
Use this in combination with perlite to make the soil extra fluffy. Works great!

Native Seeding-It's pricey but works
When broadcasting native seed, I use a carrier. In the past I have used sand, it was very hard on the equipment, but sand broadcasts the seed widely and evenly. Rice hulls are effective in carrying the seed but due to the lack of weight, it does not carry the seed very far.The best part about using rice hulls mixed with the seed, it does not wear out the machinery. If you are willing to make a greater number of passes to seed the same amount of area, then rice hulls work well as a carrier. It disburses the seed evenly throughout the application as the seed does not separate from the carrier and settle to the bottom of the hopper. For a small job, 2 acres or less, 5lbs of rice hulls is a good amount of carrier. If you are looking to seed a larger area than 2 acres, 50lbs is the amount to purchase. 50lbs bags only cost only a little more than 5lbs and it includes free shipping.

A great product. Rice hulls are great for holding moisture in potted plants and for growing up cuttings and seedlings.
