Bought these to go on my hearth, really like them! You can adjust the brightness and how long they come on for. Friends that have seen them have ordered a set as well. Had them for a few months and the work faultlessly, you won’t be disappointed!

There candles are beautiful! I bought as a gift for my daughter Dr but had to get myself a set too when I saw them!

I was very surprised at how pretty these looked when turned on - I wasn't expecting it at all!Each "candle" is a different height, and when they are all grouped together and turned on it makes for a very pleasing effect.Each candle has a flickering flame effect. along with the tiny twinkling LEDs that look as though they are wrapped around the candle, sparkling through the "glass" in which the candle is housed (this is, of course, plastic).They can be turned on/off via a switch in the base, or controlled more precisely using the remote control - very handy for adjusting the mood without having to get up and fiddle with each one!There is also a timer setting available too, so if you are prone to falling asleep with things still on, you can make sure they go off by themselves after an hour or so, thus preserving battery life. Just be aware, that they will also come back ON at the same time the next day. Bit surprising the first time this happened!!They each require 2x AA batteries, and you will need to supply them yourself. It's a shame, in this day an age, that they do not come as a rechargeable unit. There's really no reason why they couldn't, and it is for this reason that I have knocked a star off.Battery wastage can, of course, be mitigated by using rechargeable batteries in the candles (they work fine with these, as they don't draw a lot of power), but I don't feel that, as a new product, this should be my responsibility. At £30, they're not a "cheap" set.Other than the battery snag, I really like these. They come in a nice box with images of the product printed on, which makes them giftable. And the lack of naked flame combined with the timer setting makes them very safe to use, especially for elderly persons or those a bit clumsy or forgetful!Would recommend.

These are nowhere near realistic enough to be mistaken for real candles - I think the 'flames' are too orange and the flicker-effect too weak - but they are pretty in their own right.What I like:- Nice collection of four different sizes (the smallest two are the same).- Choice of flickering or non-flickering modes (I like the flickering, even if it doesn't convince).- Choice to illuminate with or without the 'fairy lights' round the outside of the containers.- Remote control functionality, including timer settings for 2, 4, 6 or 8 hours. I found the timer concept a bit confusing initially. It's on a 24 hour cycle, so if you switch the candles on and set them to run for two hours, they will do that exact same routine at the same time EVERY 24 hours!What I don't like:- They take two AA batteries each - NOT supplied - making ten for the whole set. The batteries will quickly exceed the cost of the candles.- The variable brightness is only very slight. It took me a long time to convince myself it works at all. It does, but the change is so subtle you might struggle to notice. I think it only adjusts the fairy light brightness, not the 'flames', but it's hard to tell.

Bit temperamental with the remote but otherwise work ok

Got them in my Victorian fire place ,as don't use it for a fire they look cosy in the bad weather
