Works as advertised but hot.
4.5 Stars (-half star for the heat it generates). Works very well hitting about 9.8GB. Using this on MacBook Air M4 to access my Synology DS1522 NAS. Only improvement I'd recommend to ACASIS is to have a built in cooling fan as it tends to run very hot.

Use it for my NAS
I use it on my M4 Pro MacBook Pro in order to gain the 10GbE. I have it connected to my NAS and I’m getting the full transfer speed that the NAS can take - 1240MB/sWorth the money! It does get pretty warm under heavy load but haven’t noticed any performance drops.

Junk
All the current reviews as of this writing (2/27/25) are for a different adapter, not the 10GB one that's listed now. With that said, this adapter refuses to grab an IP. The mac address is 00:00:00:00:00:00. Manually setting the speed & duplex to antyhing from 1gig to 10gig yield no results. Such a shame.

Give me wired connection when speed is a necessity
This review is for the ACASIS USB to Ethernet Adapter,1Gbps USB 3.0 to RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet LAN Network Adapter. The adapter case is made of plastic and the connection to the computer is a USB-A connector. It is plug and play for both my windows and linux machines. It is recognized as a 1Gbps on both the operating system and the switch that it is connected with. It does what it is suppose to do by giving me wired connectivity when needed. I will be using this on my raspberry pi machines that are running linux. It was a good price in order to have a wired connection when wireless just won't work.

10GBs for the right price!
10GB adapter was priced right to start with, it was plug and play with my Macbook no drivers needed and was able to see 10GB speeds when running iPerf3 tests. Under windows a quick driver install and it was up and running properly. I've had this plugged into one of the thunderbolt ports in my monitor and plug the laptop into the monitor via thunderbolt cable and it continues to work perfectly, I've had the adapter for about a month now without any issues at all. Rock solid 10GB adapter! Came with a thunderbolt cable, the body is an aluminum shell with the end caps being a hard white plastic. Build quality is okay, and the device gets warm in use ~116f.

Fast 10GB ethernet adapter
This ACASIS ethernet adapter is my go to when I travel as my slim laptop doesn't have an ethernet port out. It's connected via USB-C to my thunderbolt out on my laptop. Compatible on both PC and Mac. Speeds are quite fast. Well constructed aluminum (lightweight) for quick heat dissipation.

Ethernet adapter perfect for travel and remote work
I needed an ethernet adapter to use with a slim-format laptop that I occasionally travel with. Because of the slim thing, an ethernet port was a luxury that couldn't be had. Thankfully, one of its USB C ports is rated to USB 4 40 Gbps, so in combination with this adapter, wherever I go I'm able to have the laptop automatically negotiate the fastest available link speed. The convenience factor is excellent, and I haven't had any issues with speed reduction or over-heating or anything like that. This seems to be built very well, as it's held up to travel without issue, and I'm glad to have it in the travel bag. It's not the smallest adapter I've ever used, but it's the most capable one by a long shot.
