Actually, according the the spec sheet the solar cell charges at a rate of 400 mAh at 5.5V. For a 34800 mAh battery (which this unit has) that would be 87 hours assuming it is tracking direct sunlight the whole day. If it is lying flat on a surface, it will probably get between 1/3 to 1/2 of that, which means it will take about 20 to 30 days for a full charge from zero. On the other hand, in 8 hours it would probably charge around 1600 mAh which is enough to fill up 80% of a cell phone battery (a 400 mAh deficit for a typical 2000 mAh cell phone battery). So if you fully charge the battery pack, it would take 87 days (34800 mAh/400 mAh almost 3 months) to run down the battery completely. The solar panel seems reasonably sized for charging small appliances.
