Yes it is. My daughter has hair that is super curly and if left it will Matt up and also dread. This is good as it’s firm enough to get some tangles our but will bend and flex if the knots are too tough, means you can go back over the same spot and not cause little one too much discomfort.

Yes, the child one bristles are thinner, although its still a little scratchy but no where near as much, my 5 YO uses his by himself fine :)
