Joico Moisture Recovery Balm for Thick and Coarse Dry Hair, 16.9 fl.oz.

So I'm in the middle of transitioning from relaxer to natural . I have the coarsest hair 4c I believe they call it . So very kinky , fragile , rough , dry. All that bad stuff . This stuff worked GREAT . It have my kinks moisture !!! Enough that I could actually comb my hair through !! Which is hard for me cause it's soooooo coarse . This added the moisture and detangle I needed . Big bottle with pump and MUCH cheaper than in stores !

Sadly this product seems to be fake. I have never written an Amazon review before but feel the need to warn fellow consumers. It's super oily and heavy. After reading previous reviews I chose to condition my hair first and then wash it after. I have used it twice and have had to re-wash my hair to get it out. It is sticky and feels like glue in my hair- making my hair nearly impossible to comb through. I simply cannot believe this is a Joico product as even the smell is wrong.

Love this product. I have thick, course, dry hair that is impossible to control. That is until I tried this product. My hairdresser turned me on to it. She’d put it on my hair and set me under the dryer for 20 mins. The effect on my hair was amazing. It was softer and more manageable. Now at home I put it on after washing my hair and leave it in for 4-6 hours (instead of the hairdryer). What a difference it makes. What a difference it makes.

I recently did a lot of damage to my hair and even though it's thick and can handle a lot, it needed some help. This has been a savior. Sometimes I leave it on all day and my hair legit is so soft when I take it off I get scared it'll come off. And the smell is amazing. I have thick/wavy hair but I've been letting all my friends try it. Beware, it is a bit on the greasy side so if you have problems with greasy hair, this might not help you much.

3.5 stars in my honest opinionI tried this several times for my hair to become soft instead of dry and brittle. I have thick coarse hair and I'm not sure this is working for me but for my mother that has the same hair as me, it seems to work for her. I mean it helps my mother's hair by not looking so dry and dull. Give it a try. Everybody's hair is different.

After being natural for 7 yrs, I have tried several mask and treatment balm. There are some which are still on my list however; this is the best one hands down. What normally take me over 30 minutes to detangle now in a matter of 10 I am finish. My hair is thick with tight curls, mid-back lengthAs a prime customer I received the product in 2 days.

Scent is a little “off?” It’s supposed to have a nice clean sent like the shampoo and conditioner in this line. Upon opening the container, it smells just like the shampoo and conditioner, but once through the pump, it has an odd plastic smell. It’s not noticeable once the product is on your hair. The conditioner is WONDERFUL!! I’ve been using the shampoo and conditioner for about 2 years and they work well, but sometimes I need an extra shot of moisture. I was using the K-Pak Revitaluxe but it wasn’t doing the trick. This works great and makes my hair smooth and shiny and my ends look fabulous and not dry. Great for growing out my hair! Would recommend using weekly. Using daily weighs down my fine, but coarse hair. Works very well to replace moisture after heat styling and my straightened hair stays smooth and doesn’t look like straw! Definitely recommend!!

I have been using the product for a few weeks now, and I can definitely tell that the ends of my long hair are better moisturized. Before, I was having trouble with split and frizzy ends, and now my hair seems more manageable and develops fewer splits. My only complaint is the product washes out pretty easily, so it's hard for me to keep it in my hair for 5 minutes while I'm in the shower.

This product is fantastic! I have Afro-carribean hair and I find it hard to find things that work in my hair! But this product after I have stripped hair shaft it adds all the goodness back into my hair and leaves it soft bass and beautiful for days/weeks!10/10! I have been using it for a little over two years now

Love love love!! I have 4c hair and this just nourishes! Makes my hair soft! Smells so good! Use it on my kids hair! They love it!! Will definitely recommend for natural hair!!

This has to be the worst hair product I've ever used! My hair is shoulder length and has been lightened which has left it quite dry, weak and brittle, so I bought this thinking it would improve the moisture in my hair. I was somewhat surprised by the very, very thick consistency of the product, it felt almost like industrial strength grease. I rinsed it well afterwards, but when I dried my hair with a towel I immediately saw that the product hadn't rinsed out properly. When I touched my hair it felt very sticky and left greasy residue on my hand. I then tried blow drying it, thinking it might be better for hot air on it, but no. I looked like I'd dipped my hair in thick oil! Back into the shower and gave it another wash with shampoo only, no conditioner. Repeated the process with the same result! Back into the shower a third time, this time I gave my hair a real good scrub, but after towel drying and then blow drying I could see that it had made little difference. My scalp felt like it had a layer of thick grease on it, my hair looked like witch's hair, and in the end my husband had to do an emergency run to the supermarket to buy me some shampoo for greasy hair - I haven't used that since I was a teenager!We'll see if that can finally free me of the grease attack! Just off to do a boil wash on my towels to try and remove the gunk from them!

This stuff is fantastic if you've got very dry and damaged hair. I have long, thick, bleached hair and found that a regular intensive conditioner wasn't cutting it. I tried and liked Olaplex but a friend recommended this and suggested it might be better. The first time I used it, I used it exactly as per the instructions, keeping it on for five minutes before washing it. Although it left my hair feeling really soft, I felt it was too 'heavy' and it left a greasy sort of residue. Since then, I've been adding one squirt of this to my regular conditioner; I make sure it's concentrated towards my ends, and I leave it for a couple of minues before washing it out. I think this works a lot better for me, even though I'd have said my hair was/is quite damaged. I've seen an improvement in my hair's condition - it feels stronger and is a lot less frizzy. It smells amazing, and makes me feel like I'm really treating myself when I use it.

Okay I haven’t written a review for anything in years! Even products I like but I HAVE to with this product! I have 4B/4C hair and this has made my hair softer than any other product I’ve used in the past and I’ve tried most! Honestly get it! A little goes a long way. You won’t regret it! My hairdresser recommended it and I was skeptical at first even when I put it in hair... it wasn’t until I rinsed it off that I felt the difference. Wow! My new staple :)
