My go to Journal
I have been using this product daily for years. It is a great size notbook for travel and the lines are great for keeping my writing neat. I have tried unlined journals and my writing ends up super crooked. Good design and feel of the paper and the cover. Great product

I bought multiples to keep track of my hours
I'm a systems analyst/administrator and I used these books to keep track of my hours. They're not too expensive but yet very high quality.

the Moleskine for grad school
I have these and the Volant notebooks in the same size. The paper is somewhat different: the cahier has thinner sheets but more of them and has a sewn binding. The Volant, which is around the same price for just two notebooks, has a different binding and slightly thicker paper, but fewer pages. Also there are some perforated pages at the back of the Volant if you need to tear out a sheet. The cahier has a pocket in the back (none on the Volant) but it is not the expandable pocket you may be used to on the proper journals. The cover is paperboard on the cahier, more of a plastic cover on the Volant. Overall, its difficult to say which one I like best, so I'll probably go on getting both. Either one is far better than a spiral notebook because once you are in grad school, I feel like you should leave the spiral notebooks to the undergrads; one gets to a point where they want to keep their class notes.

Simple, lightweight, and durable.
If you're looking for lightweight, no-frills notebooks these are an excellent option. Compared to a spiral bound notebook, the Moleskine is lighter, surprisingly more durable (the stitched binding really helps to keep pages from ripping out), and infinitely more attractive. The paper is of relatively high quality, but if that's a big deal to you you'll be happier with Clairefontaine or Rhodia, which in my experience are the best (especially for fountain pens). The paper size is slightly smaller than your usual 8-1/2x11 sheets, though this is usually only an issue if you attempt to store an 8-1/2x11 page in the back-page storage fold. Small disadvantages aside, though, these are fantastic notebooks that are just what a good notebook should be: durable and transportable.

Four Stars
Simple nice note books but I wish they had the book mark string the others have.
