No. Crystal is glass. You should not poor hot liquids into any kind of glass that is not borosilicate glass such as Pyrex.

Heavier than regular glass, but not quite as heavy as leaded crystal.

5 7/8" tall (just shy of 6" tall). Hope this helped. We really like these glasses, we have small hands and these are easy to hold.
