Second edit: I contacted the company about the problem and they were going to immediately send me a new one and I was supposed to get it by a certain date. Days and it was never sent out. Then they were going to overnight it. I didn’t get it overnight. I got it, three days later than what they promised.. I installed the new one today. It worked on one TV with a picture, but I didn’t even bother with a second TV to see if I got a picture because the sound didn’t work, I called them again today.. The one that I received today wasn’t the same as the one that I was trying to replace it was from a sister company. They are going to try to replace it, but I’m not sure which one if I’m getting from Service or the sister company which had a plug that was too big for my power strip, and I really had to waste plug space because of it. They can’t overnight it The second replacement I’m not really very happy with his company. They’re going to send it by ground.Edit. I purchased this May 17, 2024 and today is August 4, 2024 and it died today. I’m very unhappy. I hope it has a warranty longer than 2 1/2 months, And I hope it can be replaced quickly.I purchased another highly rated unit. It didn’t work at all and their customer service was nonexistent. This unit worked perfectly. It was easy to set up. I have a TV and cable box in my living room, and my bedroom shares the same wall, it just seemed crazy to pay for another Cable box. I bought a long HDMI cable and put the splitter in.. I bought a splitter along time ago, that eventually died, so I could watch TV in my bedroom. I can change the channel with the remote app in my phone. If I want to watch TV in the bedroom while I’m working around the house as well as in the living room, I can do that. I also can watch TV in bed and have the TV in the living room turned off. It’s great and works perfectly!

I’m using this to downscale my AppleTV output for an older Marantz pre-pro. HDR10 works great and looks great. But my JVC RS1200 supports HDR10+, and I’m not seeing that option any more on my AppleTV. Not a huge deal, just something to be aware of.Update: every time I turn off my projector and AVR, my AppleTV loses its memory of the video settings, and I have to re-enable HDR. So for now, I guess I’ll just stick with SDR until I can buy something that doesn’t confuse the AppleTV. I’m still happy with what this does, for the price.

Works quickly and correctly with full throughput audio and picture resolution and color and chroma 4:4:4, 4k, 1080p simultaneously. Downscale toggle works as expected, locked edid for monitor when off or generic edid with duplicated 1080p when on, it just works. bravo. Zero handshake issues, fast reliable picture, full throughput, with good color.

You can duplicate displays, but you can't extend themI recently tested the J-Tech Digital HDMI Splitter, which features a 1 input and 2 output configuration. Note that the splitter does not come with an HDMI cord, so I used my own. I didn't realize that this splitter wasn't able to split to three monitors. During my testing, the device successfully extended signal to my second monitor without any issues. However, when I tried to connect a third monitor, the splitter only duplicated the display from the second, rather than extending the desktop. This means that I could only view the same content on both outputs, which isn't what I needed for my multi-monitor setup. So, if you want to expand your workspace across multiple monitors where each screen displays different content (for instance, setting up displays 1, 2, and 3), this product may not be the best fit for you. That said, it might work well for someone with needs more aligned with duplicating displays. Overall, while the splitter performed reliably, it simply didn’t meet my expectations for extending my desktop across multiple monitors.

So let me set this review up with the setup that this product was implemented into as it is not a A to B simple run of the mill setup. I have a NVIDIA 780 video card running from my pc going to 3 computer monitors in an expanded desktop display. I also have a Sony 55W800B television that I want to mirror my main middle pc monitor while receiving sound and video and still keep the extended display going.So 1 hdmi cable is going to my left most monitor, a dvi-d cable going to my right most monitor, and an hdmi cable going to the input of this splitter. On the splitter itself, output A goes to my middle main pc monitor and output B goes to my sony tv (input 4) via hdmi.The results: Perfection. All video and sound is passed through (of what should be on my middle monitor) to the middle monitor itself and the tv. I use this mainly for 2 purposes - steam gaming on the big screen and to play movie files from my hard drive on the big screen with ease.ALSO this passes HDCP 1.0/1.1/1.2 signals which is extremely important (and something that is not featured on most of the other $100 and lower hdmi splitters). Also 3d passthrough works perfectly in my tests also!I have been running this device for about 2 weeks now with no issue. I cannot comment on the longevity of this device in all honesty, but based on other reviews, it holds up extremely well in the long run (and the warranty covers the few duds out there).As a Network and Electronic Engineer by profession in my career, I am a fan of J-Tech and believe in their products. I am extremely impressed with the build quality and feature set - and it JUST WORKS! This is what I like to see in a product.One more thing to note is that this is encased in a metal box and not plastic which is better when heat is a concern. Excellent choice.I would love to test their other products out in the various setups I have in the future.
