Humidifier XL Decalcification Cartridge Filter – Compatible with Pure Enrichment's Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifier XL (Compatible Model: PEHUMLRG)

This filter actually works! I live in an area where the water is hard and thus helps cut down on the calcium scale build up on the humidifier.

The only issue I could say that I had was that the filter didn't last as long as I thought it would. I expected 2-3 months and in just over 1 month it was clogged and not allowing water to pass through. I don't know whether that was the fault of the filter or the quality of the local city water. I won't bother with another filter now until next fall when humidity levels drop consistently once again.

Only works if your water is very slightly hard. Our house has regular hard water and probably needs a water softener. This was zero help. We blew massive amounts of white powder into the air without the filter and with it. Also once the water level gets below the top of the filter the machine can't draw anymore and shuts off. So you must refill even more often because it stops draining out about the last three inches of water. Overall, did not turn out useful and was even somewhat irritating. If you have only the slightest water hardness maybe this is for you.

I use this filter in my PURE Humidifier XL and it works beautifully! It got rid of the white powder issuing from the mist which lands on the furniture. It worked the first time and has continued to do so. Having to replace it every three months is a big bonus, as well. (The negative comments about this filter seem to come from people that used in it humidifiers that are not the Pure brand.)

Reduces but does not eliminate white mineral dust. After filling the humidifier tank, I have to let it sit on the base with this filter in for about 15 minutes to allow the water to get through and then it works just fine. My first one lasted about 2 months. Still a better value to me than buying distilled water.

These were listed as being compatible with our humidifier, but after extensive efforts, they were unable to be used. The company website was useless, and I don't recommend buying them unless you already have one in a unit you are using. The model compatibility is worthless.

The filter does work. However, you must let it soak, for about 3-5 minutes in water, before attaching to unit. Also, when screwing it on cap, use you finger and push in rubber stopper as you screw. Hope this helps. I think the negative reviews are a little hasty and didn’t use common sense with attaching.

This little filter enables me to use regular tap water instead of purchasing gallons of distilled water weekly during the dry winter months. No white chalky hard water residue on my neighboring walls and furniture :)
