Incredible sounds from a cheap unit
I bought this unit to replace an Alesis Midiverb that I had had since the eighties and wasn't expecting too much with the low price and I don't usually think of Behringer as being as good as other better known brands. How wrong I was. I have just spent about 2 hours listening to the 100 internal fixed patches and just a few of the User editable patches with studio monitor headphones. The quality of the patches is astonishing, from the incredible cathedral reverbs through all the other types of reverb, lush choruses, delays, Leslie effects - the list is endless. There are also great insert effects for recording. I found I was so captivated by the beauty of different sounds that I just couldn't put my guitar down and in fact felt inspired to write music. The sounds make the Alesis sound utilitarian. For £90 this unit is simply amazing. No, correction, this unit is simply amazing fullstop! I am running mine from an Alto ZMX122 mixer which is also an amazing piece of kit for the price on Amazon.

Superb for the price.
I read up on various FX units before plumping for the Behringer; to beat this combination of spec, range of FXs and usability you would have to buy more than one unit, or very expensive unit! I have several bits of Behringer Kit in my studio and all are good; I was actually surprised that this machine was even better than I expected, virtually no noise at all and the reverbs (always a test) are excellent. There's even knobs on the front to make it easy to play with the key parameters, bypass switch is easy to use (amazing how some rack machines aren't good at that!) and the Midi does what I want it to do. I haven't tried the 3D effects but not the reason I bought the unit.

Bargain at 100GBP
Excellent range of effects and versatility for the price. Two effects processors, but possibilities to combine them are a bit limited (check the manual). Sound and effects are great for most effects tested; a few had a small level of noise.Somewhat complex to control as effects have up to 6 parameters, and it is not always clear how specific effects are implemented, ie what some parameters would control - this requires some trial-and-error if one doesn't find a preset that suits the needs. There is a PDF of the manual available from Behringer's home page that contains short descriptions of the effects, their parameters and value ranges. This helps a bit.I played with the MIDI, too, and can control the effects processor from a laptop, including from within Ableton. The manual contains the MIDI codes to use. I haven't tried, but it should be possible to automatise track effects in Ableton (or other DAWs). There were 1 or 2 unexpected glitches - not sure if the DAW or the FX2000 MIDI implementation caused them. Beside that, the MIDI is certainly usable. The processor is clearly designed for use in a rack. For desktop use, it's a bit chunky and has some sharp corners; not a big issue. One probably wouldn't want to use the knobs and buttons much in a life setup; this is not as easy as with an effects paddle. However, together, with a good MIDI controller it should be possible to use the FX2000 life and flexibly.

Was....skeptical.
Before purchasing this gem I had checked many youtube videos to find out what it was for and how it performed:The youtube vids I watching do not explain the effect it and the sister model the Virtualizer DSP2024 can do.What it had found was a real joy and investment.Any genre of music when programmed correctly it will enhance the sound quality of a low quality mp3 track and sound like a mp3 or CD quality at retail-you actually hear your music like you never did from a lush solid piece of equipment like this. 10/10

Not great, usual lack of build quality related to Beringer
Yep it's OK but like with most of Beringer product the build quality isn't great. I know it was cheap but it's very limited function wise, sometimes just wouldnt work and not in the same league as some of the iconic effects units of the 90's
