I bought this cable to connect a recently acquired HP LaserJet 4p to my PC, which has no parallel ports (the LaserJet is an early HP model from 1993 that has parallel and serial ports, but no USB). Under Windows 10, the cable and printer were recognised immediately and there was no need to install any drivers.Yes, the cable is a bit more expensive than some of the cheaper offerings but it's not exorbitant and it does the job well (so far).

Bought this as a last attempt at getting an old Datamax printer working for a work project.... we had an old printer that was parallel port only which then worked its way to a serial port, then converted into ethernet which then terminated into a local machine (Not even networked).... thought it would be a case of reinstall drivers and getting the printer working... how wrong was I... hours wasted.I nearly scrapped the lot and was looking at a replacement printer. but as a final attempt I saw this and thought i would give it a go. Arrived promptly (thank you Amazon deliver peeps) and was packaged beautifully (opening the box is 80% of the fun). All I can say is that within minutes I had the printer working from my Windows 11 machine (only 6 months old) running the Datamax which is what I think printed the boarding passes for the Titanic. Over the moon and saved me hundreds of pounds

Connected to a epson 800 printer it worked however the printer print heads were too clogged up by years of unuse, bought a brother laser printer that is working fine and less costly to run than bubble jet!!

Arrived within half a day or so. Looks like a bit of technical messing around may be required to get the printer correctly operating and communicating through it but the printer is recognised in Windows 11.

Great product. We'll packaged and worked a treat for my ancient HP450c. It was delivered quickly and is a quality item. It's also half the price of anything I found on ebay.If you have the same printer you need to remember to configure the printer to use the usb port and find a suitable driver which took me a little while and a bit of Google searching to suss. If I can find the link I'll repost it here. Now if anyone can tell me how to manually clean the heads lol

I plugged this cable between my laptop and my 26 year old HP laser printer. I was printing within a minute. Extremely easy to install and great value for the money. Highly recommend it.

I was pleasantly surprised hooking this cable up to an old dot matrix printer on a Windows 10 - 32 bit Virtual Machine. After loading the printer driver and then assigning the USB virtual port as discussed in one of the other reviews, the printer worked like a charm!For anyone who has any problems, there is a card in the package with their website and support number that is available. I didn't notice this until recycling the packaging.

Funktioniert unter Linux mit cups ohne Probleme. Endlich kann ich den Laserjet 5p über USB auf einem modernen Rechner verwenden.
