Great for emergencies
I have not used these for camping. I've only used them a few times for emergencies in the car or when my bathroom was inaccessible, used in conjunction with bags. They definitely help contain the mess! I'm not sure how they'd do for camping or a lot of waste, but i'm going to keep them on hand for emergencies and long car rides.

Treat any container; but gel capacity for urine is far lower than a water-only test suggests
Item description: urine absorbing gel packsBrand: PamacroItem: B0BYNMCMV8Date received: 2023-07-01Headline - Treat any container; but gel capacity for urine is far lower than a water-only test suggestsProduct Claims1 box, 60 ct, 10 gram gel fluid-absorbing packets620 ml urine maximum capacity per packetI received exactly what was claimed in the product description as to quantity (1 box of 60 packets). Each gel package contains 10 grams of gel and (according to the product description page details) is capable of absorbing a maximum of 620 ml of urine. (In contrast the product description notes that a package can absorb up to 2000 ml of water alone.)The test: I have reviewed similar products in the past, and had been satisfied with using tap water as the test fluid. However this product description page (thank you to the seller for being transparent about this) revealed that the capacity of this product is vastly reduced with urine as compared to water. Taken by surprise, concerned that my previous testing had overlooked this factor, I decided that the test for this review needed to be done with actual urine rather than water, and so it was. I decided to slightly overload the published urine capacity of a gel packet, and poured a gel packet into a container of 660 ml (only 6.5% more than the 620 ml of claimed capacity) of urine. I was struck with the result; it quickly became obvious that 10 grams of gel could not cope with 660 ml of urine, even though that was only slightly more than the claimed capacity. Rather than turn the contents into a semi-solid in <2 minutes (the norm for these products), after two minutes it was still sloshing around and (even though parts of it appeared to have increased viscosity) it became clear that the product had done all it could do with the amount of urine it was faced with, and had fallen short. This type of product appears to "hit a wall" when it is faced with too much fluid - at that point it fails to convert enough of the contents to improve the result. On one side of that wall it works fine, the full contents turn into a semi-solid low-spill gel - and on the other side of that wall the contents remain largely fluid and easily spillable (unless you add more gel).So I dumped in a second packet and with that extra gel, bam! - the remaining fluid was immediately absorbed and the entire contents completed conversion to a semi-solid. Based on that result, a full second packet was far more than I would have needed to add, which further supports the idea of the gel capacity having a hard limit. So based on my testing, be sure you have some extra gel packets available to add some extra gel to any container that doesn't appear to have responded well. As far as other evaluation factors, of course it is easy to use, and yes, there is a lemon scent, which does help with odor reduction.

Ok...but I'll stick to kitty litter
I ordered this because I liked how compact it is. And it does successfully turn liquid into a gel. But in my portable potty with a bag liner I just don't feel comfortable with gel. ..I want more solid. This was great in theory but not as much in practice for me. I'm going to keep using kitty litter even though it is bulkier to pack. But if space is at a premium, you might find this is great for you.

Love my portable toilet. Hate the slosh. These work.
BOTTOM LINE:1. I recommend this 60-pack of Pamacro toilet gel.2. The current price of $26 is a bit high.LIKES:- They work. Absorbs the liquid.- I can use in a doggie bag for emergency car use. These have saved the day more than once.DISLIKES:- Each packet is fairly small. Most jobs require more than one packet.

Its okay
I use this in my portable pop-up potty for camping and it works, but not as well as it said. It takes two packets to absorb the fluids, which is okay, but you just have to plan on using more than it states you need. Urine does not absorb as well as water does in this gel so is not a good test for it. The smell factor isn't the greatest either after a while it does lose its effect, but that is to be expected in any product of this type. Especially if it is in a warm environment in close quarters, even if it is camping. Overall it does work you just need two instead of one packet and the odor control will wear off in the heat and if there are several ones using it. I would definitely recommend changing it out the bag often in such a case.

Helps with smell
Hey its me again with another review for that trucker lol. I got this to go with the portable toilet I got him for his truck. I know the intended purpose is for no. 2 but when my daughter was on she only had to no.1 (she was not on the truck long). My s.o. hasnt needed to use this yet for no. 2 so cannot comment on that yet. Says he didnt smell the no.1 after she went a few times and says he didnt hear anything sloshing around and this is on a truck.

Not the best, but not bad
Okay, it's camping and boating weather and it's hot. The last thing you want is to be out on the water and have a stinky potty in this heat. So I tried out the Poo Gel and it worked so so, granted I had to add more to help the odor control, but that's okay. I mean it did the trick but it didn't really keep down the smell for very long. Now granted we were on a pontoon with a small privacy room, so it was a bit more close quarters than what it would be if we were out camping. So I'm hoping for better results in the future on the camping trips. So yeah, I'm still glad that I made this purchase and it doesn't really bother me that I had to use more than what the directions claimed, as long as it does the trick, I'm good. Thank you.

worked so-so.
I recently went camping for 2 weeks, and was looking forward to trying these out. The results were so-so, I had a 5 gallon bucket and ended up having to use about 6 packets, for about 2 gallons of waste, and it was still not very gelled (it looks like I'd need about 20 packets for that amount). I would have tried more but only took 6 with me. It did control the smell at first, but over time didn't do a great job. This might be perfect as a sort of 1 day/emergency treatment, but for a long camping trip I can't really recommend. I do believe this will be a great option for a portable toilet used at home for an elderly family member, where you are going to be dumping out the waste after each use.
