Combat Max 2 in 1 Ant Bait Station, 4 Count

Before buying this trap, we tried indoor bug spray, which worked for a couple of days, but then the ants would be back in our kitchen. We got this Combat trap and, within a few hours, the ants were slowly streaming into it. After 24 hours, the ant stream was noticeably less. After 48 hours, we didn't see any ants near it, or anywhere else in our kitchen. It has now been 10 days, and the ants have not returned. The trap is still there, just in case. I can honestly say the Combat trap was a complete success, in our case. My wife was so happy with this product that she told me to write this review.

Works GREAT. We put out a pack of 4 traps for large black ants after seeing 8 over on the floor and counter over 2 days. The next morning we saw 12 ants going in and out of one of the traps on the floor of my kitchen. I left one trap on the counter and moved 3 together. On day 3, we saw 2-3 ants going into the traps. Since the 4th morning, NO more ants. ALL this was accomplished for LESS than $7!! Highly recommended when you think of the cost of one pest control visit.

I don't know if the colony is dead but there are dead ants all over my counter so that is a sign that it actually worked unlike a different product that I bought. The only danger here is if you would have a pet that would eat the dead ants. I cleaned them up as soon as I saw them.Updated: no more ants, the colony must be dead. Either that or they all got word about the massacre and they told their buddies. I did see one ant carrying a dead one back into the wall....

I purchased this to see if it could get rid of some pesky sugar ants that invade my bathroom periodically when we get heavy rains for a weeks or so. I usually use sugar and boric acid dissolved in warm water which works but usually takes upward of two weeks. I've tried Terro baits which work for a short period to attract ants but then they sidestep the baits and never seem to kill the entire colony. After placing several of these along the ant trails, they attracted lots of ants within the first two days. After that, the ants would come and gather in small groups along the trails and just sit there. After about a week and a 1/2, I disturbed the groups and they moved but not in their usual way. I ended up squishing them and wiping the trials. After that, I saw a few ants walking but it dwindled down to none. All in all about 2 weeks. They haven't returned. I would say this product worked great.Pros:1. Works well.2. The container is easy to handle without getting poison on your hands.Cons:1. You have to break a tab off to expose the poison to the ants. If you don't press it just right, it won't break cleanly.2. The gel inside dries up in about two weeks (which was OK since the ants were almost dead by then) but if you need to have it longer you may have issues.3. You can't find it in stores so you have to order online.I would purchase gain.

Unfortunately, my experience with this product was NOT one of success. For over 30 years, I have used an environmentally responsible method of a water, sugar, and powdered borax soap solution, and it has never failed to quickly eliminate an ant problem. As suggested by a friend, I purchased this 4 bait station product and deployed all four stations.After activating each station, the entry point of each was jagged, and definitely not a welcome pass through for the ants, but they are industrious, so I waited, only to observe that over numerous days, few if any actually entered the station, thereby rendering the intended outcome totally ineffective. I next tried to move some of the bait closer to the entry point, but no luck with that. Ultimately, I decided to open up the station, remove the bait and present that to be consumed by the ants, but upon getting the bait waifer, (disc) out of the trap, I discovered that it was hard as a rock. There was nothing moist at all about it.In order to get it into any possible form that might be consumed or carried back to a nest, I had to cover the disc with a paper towel and repeatedly pound it with a hammer to reduce it to a form that might be consumed or transported. My conclusion is that I was sold an old product, with dried out bait stations's that would never have had any chance of being effective.After dismantling the stations in a final attempt to render them effective, I would not expect to be able to return them. Also, there is no dating on the box that would indicate when the product, or even this particular run of the product, was manufactured, or an expiration date of its efficacy. While I did read reviews of success with this product, mine could not be one of them.

OMG!!! I was being overtaken by a massive colony of fairly good sized ants, not Carpenter, but not sugar either!!! It was horrific! There were dozens on my kitchen counters and they would scramble when I would disrupt them. Their friends had even made there way to my living room! I was grossed out and stressed. This went on for 2 days as I awaited my Amazon delivery. They arrived around 5 PM on Saturday. I opened them immediately and placed one on each end of the kitchen counter and one on the floor by the sofa, where I had seen the ants. Twenty minutes later, these traps were inundated with ants, fighting for their chance to enjoy the buffet!!! Fast forward to Sunday morning, not an ant in sight!!! Best ant killer ever and no mess either!!! I ordered 3 more packages in case they have relatives planning a visit. I'll be ready!!!

These did not work well. Ants would die on the counter next to it, would be piles of ants and ants still running all around. I ended biting the Terro ant baits and they worked amazing.
