CasioWith the launch of its first watch in November 1974, Casio entered the wristwatch market at a time when the watch industry had just discovered digital technology. As a company with cutting-edge electronic technology developed for pocket calculators, Casio entered this field confident that it could develop timepieces that would lead the market.Today, Casio is focusing its efforts on solar-powered radio-controlled watches: the built-in solar battery eliminates the nuisance of replacing batteries, atomic timekeeping means the users never have to reset the time. Recently, Casio launched a series of Bluetooth watches that sync to the users cell phone to automatically update the time. Casio is always moving time forward. The new AE1200WHB series has many wonderful features. A light-emitting diode (LED) is used to illuminate the watch face. Local times can be called up quickly and easily for four different time zones. Displays the current time in major cities and specific areas around the world. Elapsed time, split time and final time are measured with 1/100-sec accuracy. The watch can measure times of up to 24 hours. For fans of precision: the countdown timers help you to remember specific or recurring events by giving off an audible signal at a preset time. They The time can be set to the nearest second and up to 24 hours in advance - Ideal for people who need to take medicines every day or those who do interval training. The daily alarm reminds you about recurring events with an acoustic signal at the time you have set. You can also activate hourly time signal that indicates each full hour. This model has 5 independent alarms for flexible reminders of important appointments. The button tones for using the mode button can be turned off. This means that the watch no longer beeps when switching from one function to another. Preset alarm or countdown timers remain active when the button tones are deactivated. Once set, the automatic calendar always displays the correct date. Times can be displayed in either a 12-hour or 24-hour format. 10 years, 1 battery. Newly developed electronics ensure significantly lower energy consumption. Perfect for swimming and snorkeling: the watch is water resistant to 10 bar / 100 meters. The meters value does not relate to a diving depth but to the air pressure used in the course of the water resistance test. (ISO 2281)

THIS QUALITY TIMEPIECE KEEPS DEAD ACCURATE TIME AND I CONSIDER IT TO BE A REAL BARGAIN
I BOUGHT MY FIRST CASIO WATCH MORE THAN 30 YEARS AGO. THAT WATCH'S FEATURES WERE UNIQUE AT THE TIME--WHO HAD EVER HEARD OF A DIGITAL WATCH WITH A SIMPLE ARITHMETIC CALCULATOR AND A DATA BASE THAT SOLD FOR SUCH A VERY REASONABLE PRICE?THE MODEL NOW UNDER MY REVIEW REMAINS ABOUT THE SAME SIZE AS THAT EARLIER CASIO WATCH, BUT THE MECHANISM INSIDE--THE "GUTS," AS IT WERE--HAVE BEEN IMPRESSIVELY IMPROVED. I'VE BEEN WEARING THE PIECE FOR SEVEREAL WEEKS. I CHECK ITS ACCURACY DAILY AGAINST A MASTER TIME SIGNAL BROADCAST FROM A SATELLITE. I HAVE BEEN AMAZED THAT THIS TIMEPIECE HAS THE ACCURACY OF A CHRONOMETER! SAILORS, FOR EXAMPLE, HAVE USED VERY EXPENSIVE CHRONOMETERS FOR CENTURIES TO CHECK THEIR LONGITUDAL POSITION WHILE AT SEA. NOWADAYS MARINERS AND AIRMEN USE SATELLITES TO DETERMINE THEIR POSITIONS ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH. STILL, TO HAVE A CASIO WATCH THAT KEEPS DEAD-ACCURITE TIME IS COMFORTING. THIS WATCH HASN'T LOST OR GAINED A SECOND DURING TIME I'VE BEEN USING IT! AND--IT RETAINS MANY OF THE HANDY FEATURES THAT WERE IN CASIO WATCHES SOLD LONG AGO. THE DIGITAL DAY & DATE DISPLAY, TIMER FEATURE, STOPWATCH, MULTIPLE ALARM SIGNALS ALL REMAIN AS USEFUL TO ME AS THAT FIRST CASIO I BOUGHT. IT'S ALSO NICE TO BE ABLE TO LIGHT UP THE WATCH FACE WITH THE BUILT-IN "ILLUMINATOR."ADD TO THAT A CONVENTIONAL ANALOG CLOCK FACE AND WORLD TIME ZONE INDICATOR AND THE SUM OF ALL THE CONVENIENCES OF THIS CASIO IS A WRIST WATCH OF EXCEPTIONAL QUALITY.OTHER FEATURES THAT SHOULD BE MENTIONED: MY MODEL CAME WITH A LEATHER AND FABRIC WRIST BAND WHICH I FIND VERY COMFORTABLE AND WHICH I THINK WILL PROVE TO BE QUITE DURABLE. THE PIECE IS POWERED BY WHAT CASIO SAYS IS A BATTERY THAT WILL LAST TEN YEARS. THE PIECE'S WEIGHT IS MAYBE TWO OR THREE OR THREE OUNCES (56.7--85.05 GRAMS), WHICH I FIND TO BE HARDLY NOTICEABLE.I CAN, WITHOUT RESERVATION, HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS WRISTWATCH. IT IS A PRODUCT MANUFACTURED TO A VERY HIGH STANDARD OF QUALITY, SOLD AT A VERY FAIR AND RESONABLE PRICE.(I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY RENUMERATION FOR THIS REVIEW)

Never had a Casio or a digital watch, and I'm a fan now!
Over all these decades, I've owned cheap quartz watches, midrange watches, expensive automatics and smart watches/trackers. However, over the last 10 years I've been a Fitbit user mainly. Recently, my Charge 5 came apart sitting in a hot tub since I forgot that these smart watches don't go well with hot water.Anyway, I was shopping for a Rolex thinking I'll go back to traditional automatics, and not track my every little move or sleep, but for some reason I just couldn't make a rational argument for buying it. Since I'm taking a break from the data overload, I also didn't want the Charge 6, they also keep taking away features from Charge 4 to Charge 5 and now to 6. I needed a beater watch and Casio kept coming up in reviews and this was it.The Casio AE1200WHB in green! It takes some time figuring out how to set up time, zones, DST, date etc. I watched a YouTube video and it was super easy after that. For a first Casio, and a traditional watch (although digital), I like it a lot. Green is an "in" color these days and this is a great combo. The strap feels a little cheap and so is the plastic build quality but for the price it's par. Great readability, light can be set for 1 or 3 seconds and shows 4 time zones in the quick setting with a lot more on the other menus.I still have to figure out over the long term, whether I will go back to Fitbit again or not. And small things like whether the date and time will change automatically on months with 30 days or when DST switches etc. For now this is my daily go to watch.Give it a try, you'll like it. It's a honest watch. 5 stars.

Awesome watch, cool colors
The AE-1200WH, for the price, is the best watch in the world. I now own 5 different colors/versions of this watch. This is the only one that I own without a silicone band. You can’t go wrong with this awesome watch!

A smart watch for people who hate charging
These do an awful lot of stuff considering the price, 5 alarms with settings for single use or daily (unfortunately it seems no weekdays only option) timer, stop watch (down to millisecond), time in 5 cities of your choice, a clock with hands and even a map showing your currently selected City's time zone. The only thing I could want more out of this compared to say an apple watch is the health tracking features. But considering these are $15-30 I wouldnt expect that and it would take away the 10 year battery down to a few days. The alarm isnt very loud and I could easily imagine not even hearing it if you want to use it for waking up but for timing things like cooking or exercising it should be great. The light illuminates the entire face favoring the bottom but you'll see even the clock face and has a great burnt orange color that compliments this versions Forrest green aesthetic. For the price and for a watch nerd/enthusiast or a fan of Casino Royale, these are great buys. Retro style with heritage, tons of features, no worries design, and highly usable. Maybe someday we can get something similar with those actually valuable smart watch features but until that viable these are better than any smart watch I've seen.
