Perfect for my cats!
I bought the taller one for my cats and it's absolutely purrfect! It's only about 6" off the ground so in my opinion, it's not for a dog. It would be pretty short and small for any dog over like 15lbs. It's absolutely perfect for the kitties though. It's also quite sturdy and has some weight to it to help keep them from knocking it over for funsies. It was a little higher priced than I'd like but I do think it's decent quality and will last us for a long time.

A Great Dish For A MEDIUM or SMALL Size Dog - JUST ORDER THE CORRECT SIZE
This dish is used for an older medium size Sheltie with some arthritis. It really helps to keep him steady and not have to bend his neck to the floor. I ordered several and as unexpected bonus, I found I could also turn one of the units over and my large steel water dish fits perfectly down inside the open bottom and fully raises the water too. If you do not have the correct size bowl on hand to turn this into an elevated water dish, you could simply take the unit to Wal-Mart and find a steel or plastic mixing bowl that will fit. This is great if you are a matchy-matchy type of person like me since the included removable steel dish is the perfect size for food, but IMO too small for water. The unit is heavy, thick plastic and molded in one piece. It feels substantial, seems durable and is steady on the floor.**SIZING** To help you gauge size, please note that one Sheltie is a medium size dog (Mini Schnauzer / Cocker Spaniel size) and the larger dish is perfect but it is too tall for my other Sheltie who is a smaller dog (Pomeranian size). However, I also own the smaller size unit and it's perfect for the little guys. I think the smaller size would also work for cats, but IMO neither one of these dishes would work for large dogs.I am happy to report that both dogs and human are quite pleased with this product.

Great design
If you have a large tall dog, these are perfect. They are very sturdy and cannot fall over easily. I have two of them, for both Collies. Easy to clean as the bowl comes out for cleaning and serving. Better than anything else I have seen available.

So glad I purchased these!
I got this dish for my standard and mini dachshund. My standard has back issues and neck issues which come with being a doxie and I got it so he would not have to strain to lick downward at the dish. I have to say this sure fixed that issue. Now he can sit and eat being so close to the ground. I don't see him straining now to eat and he seems to be more relaxed and comfortable This was a great investment for him just for that reason. My other doxie is a mini and a little taller than normal doxies (maybe a chi mix) and this dish is perfect height for him as well. He stands about 3-4 inches maybe taller than my other.I might be off; anyways he seems more happy eating as well with the height of the dishes now. I got two and might get a few more for different uses. I would like to be able to purchase with as an add on more of the metal dishes so I can wash them. You can pull the dish out and the bottom is just like a normal dog bowl so you can just use it. I like to wash them frequently however so this is nice. Anyways.. that is the only flaw I can find is trying to find more dishes. They seem to be standard sized so I am sure I will find some sooner or later. I got the small dish and in blue. The color is vibrant and nice IMO; I did it so I can see the dish in the floor. I liked also that the bottom circle of the dish has rubber so it grips the floor well. My dogs like to push things around, one likes to dump his food and the other likes to try to hide it and I swear make a mess. This keeps it from tipping and moving really at all. The side of the dish has a cut out where your fingers can go to pick up the dish easier. I would say making the inside of that cut out with rubber would make it more comfortable to pick up in my opinion. I have hand issues and so small things like that make a big deal to me. Its just plastic and does the job none the less. I will be suggesting these to anyone with dogs. Not sure how large the big ones are but I am 100% behind the small ones for my babies. :)

Exactly What We Needed
This bowl is perfect for our little one (40lb: Short Legs). She has a little disc problem so it was getting very hard for her to drink from bowl at ground level. This bowl is perfect height and very solid/stable......she can't knock it over!

Large is not for Medium/Large dogs
The media could not be loaded. Edit 1/21/23: I got some Gorilla Tough & Clear Mounting Tape. I put 4 pieces around the lip of the base. It helps reduce the noise and movement. It is very sticky so I didn't remove the clear liner so the bowl didn't stick to it.Not what I was expecting, I have Aussies and it doesn't seem right for them. The bowl is rather small (I included a picture of their previous bowl I was using and the smaller bowl that came with this order). It also tends to be rather noisy and the bowl twirls around in the stand. It is good quality though, the stand does not move, just the bowl. The dogs in the pictures are 19.5" (all black) & 19" (blue merle) tall. It is better than leaving on the floor I guess, just not what I expected.
