Effortless Car Scratch Removal with Meguiar's Quik Scratch Eraser Kit
I recently tried out the Meguiar's Quik Scratch Eraser Kit to fix some surface scratches on my car, and I must say it exceeded my expectations. The kit includes ScratchX, a drill-mounted pad, and a microfiber towel, making the whole process a breeze. I love how easy it was to use – simply attach the pad to a drill, apply ScratchX, and watch the scratches disappear. The results were amazing, leaving my car looking as good as new. I highly recommend this kit to anyone looking to repair minor surface blemishes quickly and effectively. It's a perfect solution for keeping your car looking pristine without breaking the bank.

Great product, try this before you repaint
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Eliminated about 90% of the scratches I thought I’d need to fix. Saved me the cost of a new paint job! Very happy with the results.Ease of use: It was supremely convenient! The kit had everything I needed and contained enough solution for scratches all around my car. Thanks!

Works somewhat
Works great in minor scratches but doesn't do anything for scratches you can feel with your finger.

Pretty good product
I bought this to see if we could help get rid of some of the trail damage on my pickup truck I use for off-roading. Wasn't expecting you to get everything off. Definitely looks a lot better than it did before. As I said above, this is trail damage done from trees and bushes on off-road trails.

It says fine scratches, that's what it does.
Someone slid a suitcase across the roof of our car. It took some of the scratches out but only the fine ones. It did remove fingernail scratches from the door handle area, and other "fine" scratches. Don't expect miracles. If you have bigger, deeper scratches get some polishing compound for removing "actual" scratches, and a buffer, not this kit.It works, and the advertising is correct, but I had a tiny bit higher expectation from a Maguiar product. Also if you have a battery powered drill it will eventually overheat and stop working for a while. Before the battery goes dead.

Worked like a charm!
I bought this kit for two very different reasons. First, I wanted to clean up some light scratches on the side of my 2010 Mustang. Second, I had what we golfers call an “idiot mark” on the crown of my new driver that I really wanted to fix.In both cases, this kit did the job. The process was quick, and even better, repeated use made a noticeable difference. The Mustang looks cleaner and smoother with each pass, and the mark on my driver has become barely visible. The ScratchX and drill pad were easy to use, and the microfiber towel is a nice touch for finishing. It’s rare to find a product that delivers exactly what it promises, but this one did. I’ll definitely keep it on hand for future touch-ups.

Phenomenal
WOW!!! is all I can say, I don’t normally write reviews but This stuff worked phenomenal. I highly recommend it. It took off most of a sideswipe that happened in a parking lot. I can’t imagine what a body repair shop would have charged me? It took about 30 seconds to buff it out with a drillbit attachment that’s included in the kit.So worth the money. And it took off other minor scratches around the car as well.

Overpromises and Underdelivers on Real Scratches
I purchased the Meguiar's Quik Scratch Eraser Kit with the hope of reviving the finish on my car after noticing several light surface scratches and scuff marks. The kit is marketed as an “easy, DIY solution” that doesn’t require professional tools or detailing experience—and while it does come with everything you need to get started, the actual results were disappointing at best and borderline ineffective at worst. What the Kit Includes:ScratchX 2.0 compound (4 oz tube)Drill-mounted foam padMicrofiber towelThe value seems good on the surface—you’re getting a compound, an applicator, and a cloth for around $20–$25. It’s a compact and approachable kit, especially for those new to auto detailing. However, that's where the strengths pretty much end. What Worked:User-Friendly Design: The instructions are simple, and the drill attachment fits most standard cordless drills. The kit is clearly intended for beginners, and in that sense, it is very easy to use.Good Packaging: The materials come well-packed and appear to be of decent quality (especially the foam pad and microfiber towel).Smells Nice: Not essential, but the compound has a pleasant scent—not chemical or overpowering like some other products. What Didn’t Work:Minimal Impact on Real Scratches: Despite being called a “Scratch Eraser,” this product did very little to remove even the lightest scratches. On one occasion, it slightly reduced the appearance of a superficial mark, but anything deeper than a hairline scratch remained fully visible.Tons of Elbow Grease for Little Reward: Even when using the compound multiple times on the same area with firm, consistent pressure via the drill pad, I saw almost no meaningful difference. For a product that promotes “quick” results, it was anything but.Drill Attachment Awkwardness: The foam pad doesn’t offer much control or coverage on curved areas or near trims. It also throws product if you’re not super careful, and it can dry out quickly if you don't reapply frequently.Compound Gummed Up Easily: The ScratchX 2.0 compound dries out fairly quickly during use and can leave a hazy film that’s hard to fully buff out. It was more of a polishing agent than a real scratch repair formula. No Long-Term Value: Once the compound is gone (and it goes fast), you're left with a drill attachment and towel. The foam pad may degrade after just a few uses, making it less reusable than advertised. What It Might Be Good For:Removing light oxidation, swirl marks, or superficial scuffs—especially on clear coat finishes.Slight cosmetic improvements that don’t involve real damage or tactile scratches.Temporary shine and polish—just don’t expect actual scratch removal.Final Verdict:Meguiar’s Quik Scratch Eraser Kit is more of a gimmick than a real solution. If you’re looking to actually remove scratches—especially those you can feel with a fingernail—this won’t help. It’s essentially a pricey polishing kit dressed up as a scratch repair solution. For truly effective scratch removal, a proper polishing system, dual-action buffer, or professional detailing is a much better investment. It’s not a total scam, but it’s definitely not the miracle solution it claims to be. Skip this and spend your money on something that actually corrects paint—not just shines it temporarily.
