Can the candles be used to be on all the time?

No. They are lit for a specific time after you screw in the bulbs. The bulbs relight 24 hours after first being screwed in and will continue to do so until you unscrew them.

Do you have to buy replacement bulbs through the company, or can you replace with any LED bulb?

Replacement bulbs are available, but you must buy the ones meant for this candle. Please search for Amazon number B07H7SM554 to locate the proper replacement bulbs. Currently, they are sold as a 4 pack of bulbs only.

I just dcvd mine & cannot get them to work, when twisting the light on it lights up for a brief second and that is it, anyone else have this issue?

These candles, while wonderfully bright, have a horribly designed base. Putting 4 AA alkaline batteries in them as designed seldom works because the tube the batteries go in are designed for slightly shorter batteries. Believe it or not, the length of AA batteries is not standardized. Try making the second to top battery a AAA battery. For me, I have to buy the super expensive lithium AAA batteries and add one of these for every three AA batteries. Or, try cheaper batteries, which may be shorter although not last as long.
