Perfect Fit and Protection!
The Fintie Slimshell Case is the perfect fit for my 6" Kindle Paperwhite (2012-2017). It’s lightweight but provides solid protection, keeping my Kindle safe from scratches and drops. The auto sleep/wake feature works seamlessly, and I love the dual-color design—it’s stylish and functional. The case isn’t bulky, making it easy to carry around. If you have an older Kindle Paperwhite, this case is a great choice! Highly recommend for its practicality and sleek look.

SMARTSHELL review
I want to begin this review by pointing out that this product listing is actually for 4 different types of cases: Old Folio, New Folio, Thick hardback, and Smartshell (thin hardback). I purchased the Smartshell, so I can only really speak to the quality of this case. When reading the negative/positive reviews -- note which case the reviewer is talking about! That's how I landed on this one :)My case was thin and light, and the Paperwhite popped in very easily and securely. The purple is a lovely grape color, which I like, although the pictured version looks more of a wine color. The case is truly a "shell"; it is thin plastic all around, and it snaps on like a phone cover might. It is subtly textured to grip easily, so it's not a slippery plastic. The inside cover that touches the screen is a light layer of felt. There is an inscription on the inside, "Be Different, Be Finite. Designed by Finite in USA," and a logo at the bottom. There are no logos or markings on the outside, however. The case feels strong and like it can protect the device. There is a magnetized closure that is secure, and it can put the device to sleep or wake it up, as the cover is opened/closed. The magnet is not too strong to open nor too weak to keep closed. It is inside the material of the cover itself and doesn't stick out. Additionally, the front cover can be easily wrapped around to the back for one-handed reading of the Kindle. It is easy to do this, and does not feel like I am damaging the cover at all.I have not experienced any issues with the magnet in the case putting the device to sleep randomly, as some reviewers have! I believe most of those reviews are using a different model. I will update this review if I experience that or any other problems. My boyfriend also has a Paperwhite, and his cover is an OMOTON. As of this writing, the OMOTON is slightly cheaper than this Fintie. His case is very similar to mine, and maybe a teeeeeny bit thinner/lighter. This one feels slightly sturdier. However, Fintie comes in a much wider range of colors, which was my reason for trying it. I think either of these items would serve you well.

So far, great for the price...
Original cover was purchased with Kindle in 2014. Cover was $39.99. The soft edges of the original cover began to dry rot & crumble. Not complaining about original, since I have read 110 books on it since 2014, so it's been handled a lot. Now, I was surprised that I could even purchase a new cover for such an old model Kindle, let alone for under $12. Does the new, cheaper cover compare to the old (way) more expensive cover? Obviously at this point, having had it for 1 week, I can't speak on longevity. But, I can say that it looks good, fits well and does all that it needs to do. The magnetic closure works well & it puts unit to sleep when closed & awakens upon opening. The only noticable difference between the old and new is this, and the reason for four stars (and not five) on the "easy to hold". The older one had a softer feel. New cover is smoother & a bit more slippery. (No more using it for a tray when walkingto my reading spot 😄) Not a big deal, and for the price difference, not worth complaining about,, just merely pointing out the noticable differences. The older one had more of a "quality" feel to it. But, all things considered (price, availability, looks, construction, feel, Etc.) it's steal a deal & I do recommend.

Vibrant colored case for my old kindle
I wanted to change up the case on my old kindle and there just isn't a ton of options given its age. Took a gamble on this one and it works!Pros:Fits wellTextured for gripColor is VIBRANT (no misplacing this)Easily closes with magnet and sleepsCons:Feels more like vinyl than leatherWish the magnet would hold the flap to the backBottom Line: If you want a case you can't misplace that sleeps when you close this is a good choice for your old kindle

8 years later still wonderful and Very Durable!
I got this case 8 years ago in 2016 when I purchased my kindle paperwhite and it has been used and abused but still going strong. I use my kindle pretty often, brought it on every vacation, moved multiple times with it thrown into a random box, stuff it in my work bag, regularly fall asleep while reading and it falls off the bed to the floor, etc. I have never had to worry about breaking or scratching my kindle because of this case. After all the abuse I've put this through there is just two spots where the different layers of the front lid are starting to separate (one is in the middle where I usually pull to open it). The magnet is still going strong and keeps the front cover closed. I highly recommend this case, and as a teacher it's cute too!

Attention getting cover does what it should
Does exactly what it should. Protects and turns on Kindle when opened. All that and looks good too.

Big improvement
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I have an older version of Kindle reader. When I purchased it years ago, I ordered a fake leather case that had a snap closure. If you held it upside down, the Kindle could slip out of the top. This case finally deteriorated so I began looking for a replacement. Loved the “Starry Night” design so ordered it. My Kindle fit snuggly and seems almost magnetic in this case. It is surprisingly lightweight despite being hard shell. There is no closure flap getting in the way while I’m reading. Wish I had made the switch years ago.
