How does the seat cover stay in place while rowing?

It has a non-slip surface on it.

I want to use this at the gym, so it needs to be easy to place on the seat while staying in place for the workout. Will this do the job?

Yes. The grey colored side of the cushion is non-slip, and it doesn't move as the seat slides back and forth. I actually tested this by placing the cushion on the seat and moving the seat back and forth with only my finger tips of one hand. The cushion absolutely does not move once put in place. So when sitting on it i guarantee it'll stay put :)

what are the dimensions?

From the product description: "It measures exactly at 15.5'' x 9'' and has a thickness of 1/2'' I don't think it's quite half an inch thick, but I could be wrong. It fits the Concept 2 seat perfectly and stays in place.

Do any of you use this in the boat when sculling? Do you like it?

I just use it on my rowing machine. I like it.
