Excellent learning platform for AI and robotics
Excellent job done by the developers at Adeept, this is an exceptionally good product for people like myself who are interested in tinkering with AI and robotics. The fact that the sample code provided is written in python makes the learning curve a lot more easier for beginners. Assembly is quite easy, I followed the youtube instructional video but at times had to cross-check some of the steps with the pdf instructions manual just to be sure, having both sources to work with made it easy. Quick tip: ensure that the software on the raspberry pi is set up correctly and server.py is running before starting the build as you will need to center the servos while attaching them to the robot (this is done by connecting them to the pi shield). On the pi, you can download the code from Adeept's git page and just run the setup.py python script, the script does all the heavy lifting for ensuring that the correct libraries are installed, really made it hassle free. Cost wise the parts alone that come in this product make it a good buy. This is the 2nd product from Adeept that I have bought in the past 2 years, not been let down, I will definitely continue to keep an eye out on future products these folks develop.

Awesome Kit, the kids love it!
The media could not be loaded.  TLDR: This is a great kit, very affordable, follow the online PDF as it did not come with instructions in the box. The programming part is straight forward to get it running. simply clone the repo and run setup script. Have fun!I got this RaspClaws kit for my kids as a Christmas present, and couldnât be happier. Itâs is a great start for anyone trying to get started playing with robotics. The price is fairly reasonable given the parts that it comes with, Picam, servos x15 +1 one extra, Accelerometer, LEDs, ect. Once assembled, it is fairly compact and even looks pretty cool. There were no instructions in the box, but instructions could be found on the link provided on the product page of amazon. The assembly process is straight forward simply follow the instructions and youâll be setup in no time. Overall, it took me less than a day to put it all together.Everything is OpenSource, so you simply have to download the code from their Git repo, and run the setup.py. The setup script will take care of installing everything needed for the RaspClaws to work.Once everything was setup and installed, I was able to run the RaspClaws.py without any issues and connected successfully to the âspiderâ, and It crawls ⌠itâs creepyOverall, this is a great learning/fun kit! I look forward to see how they play with it longterm.P.S: you may want a second sets of batteries, to limit your play downtime :-D

Deprecated Software
So this thing canât be assembled until the raspberry pi is installed and programmed properly so that you can zero out the servos. Thing is that the instructions are kind of a mess to begin with and the software they have you install is old and incompatible with the raspberry pi OS that you get so you have to either go digging through and troubleshoot a ton or find an older OS all because the company canât be bothered to update their code and libraries.Edit one year later: went ahead and gave this thing another shot. Whoever wrote this manual has zero idea what they are doing and has zero skills writing technical manuals. This is absurd. I have to take half the robot apart now because the instructions to flip part of the poorly written instructions for the opposite side of the robots legs were place at the end of the bottom portion of the robot assembly even though those parts are in the instructions four pages up. Absurd.. absolutely absurd. Cant wait to get to the part where the software malfunctions. Bet that hasnt been fixed yet.You have to read pages ahead sometimes to see what was poorly laid put in a prior step. Also this is not a project for anyone without high amounts of dexterity in their fingertips or large fingers.

This robot kit is Awesome!
I had to watch the video along with reading the assembly document due to 2D vs 3D. Set up your Ras Pi first, get your servos aligned. If you align while assembling make sure the camera is connected or it won't boot the software.I have built more than a dozen kits in the last year. This one has the most accurate instructions (almost dead on) and the software worked perfectly though i did have a little trouble getting the right CV file. Trial and error got me there.I would recommend this to youngsters who want to start using and programming a Raspberry Pi as it is very accurate and easy to follow. I used a RPI 4, it worked first time and every time.GREAT PRODUCT!
