Use it for photos.

The hardware portion is very good. Unfortunately to use with Apple devices you need iDiskk Max software. The software is buggy and tries to run even when the device is not connected as it gets confused by Apple file manager opening files NOT in the Idevice Documents directory. Had to uninstall and reinstall each time to release my file(s) from opening iDiskk Max software It wants to phone home to FeiTianXia each time too so you need to say no, also wants to scan your network, again say no. Copy files is a multistep task, first to IDiskk Max software Documents folder then from there to the IDiskk hardware. Only recognizes two folder names 'Photos' and 'Documents', other limitations too. Hardware works great though on android and PC systems where no additional software is needed.

I bought this because the iphone is garbage and so is the iCloud- I had over 7,000 videos and 6,000 photos that needed to be saved because I dont have enough storage even though I bought 1 TB of the cloud which is a waste because once you delete anything from your phone- it deletes on the cloud.I bought this, made sure it synced, wasted hours waiting for everything to sync and supposedly save, only to discover that the formatting is something foreign and that not even half my videos saved- I am an android user because it's designed better, but unfortunately my work phone is the iPhone-Had to get content and had to delete all of my 2020 photos and videos on the iPhone because of lack of storage- made sure to save on the idisk at least 15 times within a week before needing to get content because I'm paranoid- couldn't open files because it was formatted weird, but my friend said she could fix it-Like I said not even half my videos from my phone saved and so I lost everything from my 2020 files because this is legit The biggest POS!! Oh and it saves photos but apparently not really videos because again GARBAGEDON'T BUY IT! YOU WILL BE IN TEARS!! JUST DON'T!!!! IF YOU DO, GET READY TO THROW THIS POS IN THE TRASH

Apparently, I’ve been sent a used 512G flash drive. I plugged the drive into my computer to start using it and a file folder showed up in it with a name in a language I’m not familiar with and says it is using 15G consisting of jpegs and rars. I decided to do a virus scan on it and it scanned a total of 66,291 items! It does not appear to have any risks associated with it, thankfully. I purchased this after having a good experience with a previous purchase of a 128G flash drive. I’m not happy this time around. Since I can just delete the folder and it’s contents, I didn’t give it a 1 star rating.
