These vanilla beans are cured in the traditional method. They are cured for 14 days in the sun. At night, they are packed into sweating boxes to reduce moisture. They are then stored in curing boxes for an additional 4 months where they develop fragrance even further, as well as allowing time to convert glucovanillin into vanillin. The result is a superior vanilla bean.

There are many differences in Grade A vs. Grade B vanilla beans. The most notable would be the moisture content. Grade A are at least 30-35% moisture, but do not exceed 38%.
