I assume that you mean a 20 month old. Then yes, it would be quite challenging. Without knowledge of spies and their activities the child cannot imagine themselves in the role. We purchased the kit for a 6 year old who loves it and can use it as intended. I would recommend that you wait until the child knows the story of spies, otherwise it wouldn't be used to its full potential and may prevent hazard as a "chew toy".

Yes, this is good. My son is in kindergarten so I didn't clip the motion detector to it but he did take the light, laser and others and it worked! He was the hit even with the 5th graders! :)
