Motor Fit a Discontinued New Home MyExcel 23L Sewing Machine.
Fit a New HOme MyExcel 23L sewing machine. The motor went out on the above. Looking at the Enduro carefully the measurements of the motor appeared to be the same so I took chance (not much of one since it was returnable) and got the Enduro motor. The new motor fit the existing bracket and I simply wired the motor to the same 115vac used for the failed motor. The motor ran clean and smooth and the existing food pedal speed controller worked perfectly.I expected some modifications and I discovered them when I got to the motor pulley. The New Home has a goged pulley that fit a split sized shaft so these were not compatible to fit the Enduro 6mm shaft. I found a hillbilly fix but not the lighthearted. All in all the motor was a great price and worked wonderfully and I saved a lot of money vs buying even a used motor for this discontinued MyExcel machine and the custom mods were expected with this old machine so high praise for the Enduro.

Works well on my vintage machine.
I installed this motor on my early 60’s Montgomery Ward Signature model URR-273. Easy to install and runs smooth with good attenuation from the foot pedal. Powers thru 6 layers of cotton fabric with no problem. I did a little bit of free motion quilting to test it out and it worked fine. Much more pwerful than the 50 year old motor it replaced. I use an in-line dimmer switch to slow it down so it does’t make sudden jumps in speed when free motion quilting, but it works fine without it for piecing and normal sewing. Comes with everything you need and spare brushes. Looks like it will fit a lot of older machines with an external motor. I’ve used it to piece a dozen quilt blocks so far and I’m really happy with it.

Careful - foot controller is not variable speed
In my opinion, the listing is misleading. It describes the foot controller as a speed controller. The foot actuator is simply an on/off switch. Full speed or no speed. I actually read the listing more carefully after my discovery, and I see now that the area taking about likes/dislikes does say it is not variable speed. I take this as my mistake so I will keep it a rig a variable speed controller to the motor.

Pedal Operates Like Garbage
Not only does the pedal actuate the motor from 0 to 6000 rpm as soon as it's depressed, but it also tripped the breaker for the entire wall it was plugged in to. Upon further inspection, the solders on the contacts in the pedal are not good at all, and the wires are frayed from the solder, and looks close enough to arc-and-spark as soon as it gets power. The plastic piece for the pedal is completely chewed up, and I can actively see electricity sparking to the frame when the pedal is depressed, which could absolutely KILL someone if they are not grounded or another circumstance is met. I'd give it zero stars if I could, and will be requesting a refund from Amazon for this purchase. The best place for this cheaply assembled garbage is a scrap heap.

More powerful but no speed control with supplied pedal
The motor is good for this purpose but the mounting brackets required extensive filing to fit to my Singer 99. The supplied pedal was also basically an on/off switch making slow stitching impossible.*If you're competent electrically*Cutting the supplied pedal off and spicing an original pedal in results with an adjustable sewing speed

Happy granddaughter
My grandma for weeks kept saying my motor for my Sewing machine broke and I didn’t know I can order through Amazon and I did and I’m glad I did. I’ve turned my grandmothers life around. She’s the happiest camper ever and grateful that someone listened. The product is excellent and she is happy as she can be and the price is just right.

Very good replacement motor for a Vintage Machine.
I bought a motor from another site and the motor was trash. It smelled like burnt wires and you could see sparks within the motor. This was the total opposite. Runs smoothly and there was a smell at the very beginning of use, but it soon went away and no other problems since. I am very glad to have purchased this motor. Happy camper here.
