Under the NilePoplin Sunhat

I love this lightweight organic cotton hat for my five month old. I searched every hat on the internet but wanted 100% organic cotton and prefer him to wear natural fabrics. I trust Under the Nile’s products, we use the washcloths which are a superior quality.The hat keeps the sun off his face, cheeks and neck while we’re outside. The hat is so lightweight and tightly woven cotton so it blocks the sun while keeping his head cool. The top is a double lined layer but so light. It’s structured in a way to stay on his head.He’s been wearing the hat for about a month everyday and he’s stayed well protected. I work outdoors a lot and love how this shades his eyes from the bright sun too. He is the size of a 9 month old but with an average size 6 month old head size and it fits great, a little big but I wanted him to grow into it, his head is 17” I think and I bought the 3-12. Even with a little room it’s a good fit because of the structured cotton- and so cute. The straps are placed so that you don’t have to tie them and we usually don’t unless it’s windy. It’s nice to tie the hat to the stroller.

It took me forever to pick out this hat because of the sheer number of options available. I had originally intended to purchase one with an SPF, but didn't like the synthetic feel of the SPF fabrics. I decided to go with the classic organic poplin, and couldn't be happier with this hat. It's beautifully made and looks so sweet and classic on our 9 month old grandson.Our baby tends to be finicky about hats, sunglasses, and things on his head, and for that reason I like the simple ties of this hat for fastening, as they are more secure than the Velcro fasteners found on many baby hats. Our grandson failed to immediately rip this one off his head, eventually conceded and now seems to enjoy it, lol!The poplin fabric is simply wonderful. It's soft and pure and has a lovely sheen. The white is fantastic and goes with all of his summer duds while keeping him cool. The brim is the perfect width and keeps the sun off of his shoulders without hindering his sight-lines or being obtrusive. We don't miss the SPF, as this poplin is thick enough not to let the sun through.This is the perfect sun hat, don't hesitate!

Absolutely love it! Soft, cute, lightweight. Still a little too big for the granddaughter, but not so big that she can't use it. And she has room to grow.

It’s adorable, fits as expected. Haven’t tried tying the straps yet.

Beautiful quality. Looks so cute on our almost five month old guy. His head seems normal to a little above normal size and the size 3-12 month when washed fits perfectly. (He will definitely be grown out of it well before a year, but that's fine....it will be perfect for this summer.)The only odd this is placement of the straps, they are either too far forward near the forehead or behind the ears, and they might be sewn on a tad crooked. But the hat fits so well, it isn't too big of an issue. I would buy again.

I bought this hat in white to protect my one year old on our trip to Disney World. It was one of three hats that I brought along and this was the only one she would leave on. One of the others was from Target and had a velcro strap that barely went around her chubby little face, and the other was the "i play" (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000P0YTRU/ref=oh_details_o06_s01_i01) hat that I also ordered on Amazon. Though the "i play" brim was wider and more adjustable, I think my little one thought it to be TOO intrusive, while the poplin was wide enough to protect her from the sun without making her so aware of it's presence on her head. And as a cherry on top, it looked SUPER cute and went with just about everything.

I was looking at this hat and the iplay hat for my daughter this summer. I almost got the iplay because I was afraid the Under the Nile hat wasn't floppy enough, but then I read a review that the iplay hat was TOO floppy. I am so happy with this Under the Nile hat. I got the 12-24 month hat. It fits my 12 month old beautifully, and should continue to fit her well. It has a wider brim than I thought it would have after looking at the picture online. It is a good weight- nice and light for a hot summer. I am VERY happy with this hat!
