A very effective, quiet cooling fan with a temperature sensor
I bought this cooling fan to provide ventilation for our home media server. The server, a 4-drive RAID 5 array, proved to be extremely noisy to the point of distracting from any music or movie we tried to enjoy. Improvising, I used an old wine cooler, lined it with acoustic foam and removed the defunct cooling mechanism that no longer functioned. I also removed the bottom door seal, expecting the cooling fan in the server to circulate enough air to keep it cool. The case, however, became hot as blazes, so I added this fan to the back of the cabinet, where the original refrigeration cooling fan had been. This may be an unusual application for this fan, but it proves how effective it is. Placing the temperature sensor on the server case, the server now runs cool to the touch and the Arctic cooling fan is completely silent. It's a very effective cooling fan, and the sensor insures that the speed of the fan is matched precisely to the need.

NO Complaints here.
compared to the 25cent fan in the Powermax 110 Volt to 12 Volt Dv Power Supply Converter Charger for Rv Pm3-55 (55 Amp) hands down far better and the thermal control added to it is WAY better. Original fan failed after almost a year of steady use. Making a grinding noise and vibration. got the unit apart had to use a drill bit for the rivets and convert the plug but its working just fine.Fan is WAY quieter after a few feet away i cant hardly hear the fan at all and blowing a good amount of air through the case. Fix the thermal sensor on the heatsink and all good.So for all you Powermax users and others that are using things like it this would be a good fan to use providing its a 80mm fan in use which is just over a 3 inch square in size

Good fan and quiet.
Used this to replace a UPS fan in a server UPS that always ran full speed. This was an easy way to get a temperature controlled fan in their. Just taped the temperature probe to the heatsink in the UPS.

Keeps the PC cool
The temp sensor cable is plenty long but the power cord could be longer. As it turned out the case fan connector on my MB was on the front edge and I needed to mount this fan on the back of the case. The cord is also a 3 pin and not 4 so the fan speed is controlled exclusively by the temperature probe. So far I haven't been able to see the fan RPMs in any of my monitoring software but I'm still tinkering. The fan works exactly as it's supposed to. As my son starts playing games and such the fans on the GPU kick into high gear and dump a lot of extra heat into the case. I put the temperature probe right under these fans and as they heat up this case fan speeds up, drawing the hot air out the back. This is the only case fan with the exception of the power supply and the machine seems to be running cool, even under high load.I should have gone for a larger size. I didn't notice until after I got the fan that there's two sets of mounting holes so I believe a 90mm or possibly a 100mm fan would have fit. When it comes to fans, bigger is normally better.

works great, short service life
put these in a rack mounted UPS, worked amazing to quiet it down, however the bearings failed after 2 years. if you're putting this in something that'll run 24/7 you may want to get something else with a longer service life otherwise these are great

Works great for my need.
I needed a small fan for my video cabinet, and did not want something that was running full speed all the time. This was a perfect solution. Using a small brick power supply, I mounted this on the top of my video cabinet. When the room and cabinet are cool, it runs at the slow speed. But when the equipment is on, the fan will speed up to help cool the cabinet. I did not try this in a computer, so I cannot comment on that use.

Fragile Sensor
Be very careful with the glasslike sensor bulb since it is more delicate than it looks. At first I was impressed by the design of this fan but while reinstalling it the sensor ticked against my metal case. This caused the speed regulation to fail and the fan ran at full speed afterward. Perusing their website it appears that Arctic has no real RMA procedure other than for the customer to return the product to the dealer. Fortunately Amazon credited me for the purchase.

Seem to push a fair bit of air for their size.
They are easy to install in any computer with a spare fan power plug on your motherboard. I installed 2 in the top of my midtower case (the size of these is best suited for a case smaller than a typical mid tower) Since installing them it does seem like the other fans in my pc don't need to work as hard which is nice because the oem case fans are much louder than these. For the price I paid (something like 5$ each) Grab a few stock up, and stick a couple in your next pc build. While they might not push as much air as a bigger fan but it'll still help keep things cooler.

A Good Fan - for Replacement or Backup
I purchased this as I recently got a 'CPU Fan Not Detected' message when starting my desktop up. Opening the case I found the fan was working but sometimes only did so after pressing F1 (as advised after the warning message). Looking around at other opinions on the problem it could either be the fan needed lubricating, replacing or it was a 'software' problem with a Windows 10 Update. This fan works well - and quietly. I tried it out but put back the existing a fan as it still has life in it. The existing fan also has four pins to the power source socket whilst this has three. That is not a problem as this three pin fan can fit and will work on a four pin socket. The fourth pin is for monitoring while this fan has a separate wire/sensor that attaches to the fan case to monitor temperature. In all, changing the fan is a somewhat fiddly and tricky job so best done only when really necessary. The key thing is to get the right size of fan. This is a good guide to selecting the right fan size:Screw hole spacings (horizontal or vertical - not diagonal) and fan sizes 32mm between screw holes 40mm fan size 40mm between screw holes 50mm fan size 50mm between screw holes 60mm fan size 60mm between screw holes 70mm fan size 72mm between screw holes 80mm fan size 83mm between screw holes 92mm fan size 105mm between screw holes 120mm fan size

In poche parole informatevi prima.

Does the job, quiet and great price
Blows a fair enough of air and is far more quiet than the stock fan. What I like about it is the temperature control probe which increases the fan speed when higher temperature is sensed. Easy to install and looks good too. Has a good construction and should last for a long time.
