Brilliant way to make my “dumb” device a smart device. I have an older window unit AC that has a remote. I can now control it from anywhere. Pretty cool! This thing has a powerful signal. I’ve seen complaints about setup. I’ll share what I did. Open box, look at it with skepticism, plug it in, wonder why there’s no light to indicate power. Then, look at instructions eventually. Scanned the QR code to install the app. Scanned another QR code to link the app to the device. Then press the tiny, barely visible button for 6 seconds. App wanted my WiFi password. I reluctantly caved. And boom, connected. Then I did the self explanatory “DIY” remote clone, and this little thing is working like a champ.

It works well, for what it does!The devices it’s comparable with are fairly limited, but you can program any IR remote. Super convenient to be able to control devices from your phone, but only the devices linked directly in the app are compatible with Alexa, not the remotes you teach it. You also can’t name your stored remotes. They will all be “Other”, but you can have a subtitle, in smaller text underneath, that you can customize. The control Alexa has is limited, as well. You can tell Alexa to turn your TV on or off, but not to change the channel, control volume, etc., but you still have full function from your phone.One really nice thing is, it has an extremely wide angle. If you set it up in a central location, you should be able to control most of your devices. I have mine mounted to the wall, and it still works great.

mis comentarios:LO POSITIVO:1. es muy potente, lo dejas en una esquina de tu habitación y llega a todos los aparatos, en lo personal lo tengo semi escondido y funciona de maravilla, tiene muy buena potencia2. el diseño es pequeño y bonito, lo puedes esconder fácilmente3. se adapto bien con mi aire acondicionado, se daño la placa hace varios años, la cambiaron por una que no se la marca, pero encontré la marca luego de probar con varias marcas y funciona de maravilla4. LO MEJOR es la aplicación es Smart Life, la aplicación es muy completa para crear escenas5. funciona perfecto con Alexa y Google Home, tengo los dos asistentes en usoLO NEGATIVO1. creo que a futuro sacaran un modelo mas pequeño, aunque lo que es actualmente es muy bueno2. agregue 2 televisores, una caja digital de canales y 2 aires acondicionadores lo malo es que no puedo cambiarles el nombre, no se puede editar los nombres y se llamas TV y TV 2, es algo incomodo aunque la verdad eso no te afecta en funcionalidad, pero si tienes muchos aparatos puede ser problema, no se si este problema es general o puntual en mi caso3. agregue un aire acondicionado Comforstar y me da problemas, tiene 2 grados abajo en su configuración, le digo pon el aire acondicionado en 22 grados y me lo configura a 20 grados, hoy intentare en borrar y agregar nuevamente la configuración, espero se resuelva4. tengo una barra de sonido y un teatro en casa y no tienen controles para estos aparatos, no es problema ya que puedes grabar un mando, pero ocupas que funcione el mando para grabar el botón5. el teatro en casa de sonido que tengo es algo viejo y el mando a control remoto se daño, no tengo el mando y como no existe este aparato en su catalogo no puedo agregarlo, este es un impedimento grande ya que si el mando esta dañado y no esta en el catalogo de aparatos creo que sera difícil que puedas agregarlo, debería existir una opción para descargar aparato y ampliar tu catalogoel aparato es funcional, es potente, lo pones en una esquina de tu habitación o sala de estar y te accede a todos los aparatos cercanos, no necesitas colocarlo frente a los aparatos a controlar, yo los tengo a varios metros y escondido y funciona biendebes ser creativo con los escenarios y puedes sacar mucho provecho, ejemplo en la mañana enciendo el TV y la caja digital, luego configure un canal de música y configuro el volumen del TV y apaga mi aire acondicionado, es tener creatividad, al inicio hice la configuración en Alexa y Google, pero es mejor crear la Escena en la App del aparato y solo ejecutarla con los asistentesmuy satisfecho

Most users will have a wireless network which works on both 2.4 and 5G frequencies, this device is supposedly 2.4G however it will try to connect to the 5G network and ignore the 2.4G (which it has to connect to) if you follow the instructions it will look as though it is connecting to the network but smart things will never find it. You must turn off your 5G wireless network and then start the install again,There is nothing in the manufacturers instructions that I could find to warn of this.I bought this device to integrate with Alexa and my smart TV only to discover that I have wasted my money as there is almost no integration, you can turn the tv on and off but that is about the limit, Alexa would not work with the DVD, set top box nor the soundbar even though all are set up in smart things. If you want to use this to add remotes to your smart phone it is an excellent device and good value for Alexa use not so much. The USB power cable supplied with the device is a ridiculous length and way too short to be of use to most users (around 15 to 18") plan on replacing it with a longer one,

This is not a bad emitter. It works fairly well, and did a good job as a backup/alternate IR emitter to control my air conditioner while I was away on a week long trip.I configured it using the Smartlife app. It wasn't in the device list, but I was able to program it using the remote from my air conditioner.The app isn't the best, and is a little rough around the edges, but it gets the job done. One thing I wasn't able to find was a library of user submitted device profiles. You can program an unsupported device using the remote, which is what I did for my air conditioner, but I've lost the remote for my fan. Fortunately, I also bought another IR emitter which does have a library of user submitted profiles, and was able to find one that worked with my fan.I ended up using it quite a bit to control my conditioner, in conjunction with my other IR emitter. It worked very well, and never became unavailable, or needed to be rebooted.The Alexa integration works. I can now command my TV with Alexa.
