Gioberti Men's Waterproof Rain Jacket With Mesh Lining and Carrying Bag

I purchased this as a gift. I had shopped around at local stores and found the quality to be lacking and the prices to be outrageous. I decided to try my luck on Amazon. This jacket checked all the boxes for my Dad - lightweight, zipper, pockets and a dark color. I purchased a large in gray. I included his details for reference: He’s 5’10” with a 32” waist. I bought a large. It fits him well with room to spare.I would absolutely order it again. He’s hard on everything so I’m sure he’ll need a new one in sooner than later. I won’t hesitate to repurchase. These are a good value for the price and the quality is excellent for a light weight jacket. I actually think it’s nicer than the big brands carried by local retailers.

I got this to replace a cheap "raincoat" that wasn't waterproof at all.I haven't been out in the pouring rain with this yet, but I have been wearing it in the rain and snow (I've owned it for six months now) and it has kept me warm and dry - the water beads up on the outer material.It has held together very well, though I haven't really abused it - I use it primarily to exercise the dog in foul weather.The one flaw that bugs me every time I put the jacket on and zip it up is the Velcro, or hook-and-loop tabs sewn into the jacket near the zipper. In my opinion, they got them backwards. The hook tabs are on the flap and constantly catch hold of the liner - so I have to detach them every time I want to zip the jacket up. If they had put the loop tabs on the flap instead, there would be no issue at all. In fact, someday it might annoy me enough that I'll remove them and re-sew them where I think they belong - or just leave them off altogether.I still recommend this jacket - it is much better than any of the cheap foul weather gear that I've owned.

I have looked all over for a good wind-breaker. Everything was either too ugly or too heavy. This Gioberti's wind-breaker (and waterproof rain jacket) is really well made. Excellent design. It fit as I expected. Not too tight and not too big. I take an extra large and this is a perfect fit. The price is amazing. I would have easily paid $150.00 for this. I use it as a Winter jacket, too. With a scarf. And it keeps me warm without the usual weight of a Winter coat. (Three weeks later now I would only add to my review that the zipper is not of the best quality. So when zipping up and zipping down be a bit gentle and focused in doing so and you should not have any problems. But I'm going to contact the company anyway and ask them to put higher quality zippers on this product for future customers).

I use this for winter cycling.Today I biked in 8 degree weather that felt like -7 according to my weather app, and it blocked out the wind perfectly. For those interested I wore three layers underneath- fleece baselayer, thermal jersey, and a thermal jacket. It kept me plenty warm and insulated.The first thing I noticed when I opened the package and held the jacket, I got the orange color, was how heavy it was. Not like a coat but definitely not light like a $3 poncho. It has the perfect weight/thickness. When you hold it, it definitely feels like strong material.I'm very particular with my jackets and coats because I know when I find the right one I'm going to have it for many many years. I'm very happy with this purchase and I absolutely love the color. It makes it easier for cars to see me.UPDATE.This jacket is AMAZING! I finally had the chance to wear it while it was pouring down rain. It was 40F out and it was a 20 minute cycling work commute and this kept my upper body perfectly dry! I am so happy! It's ACTUALLY waterproof.

I'm 6' 170lbs - I initially bought this in size Medium and it was a little too big, especially in the chest. Returned it for a small and it fits perfect. Works well to repel water and it is fully lined including the arms which lets it breath.

I hadn't gotten around to writing a review on this jacket as up until today I had not worn it in the rain for more than just a couple of minutes. For those short times in the rain, like walking from the car to the entrance of a store it was fine. But today I had to be out in the rain because of a work requirement for like 15min. It was a steady, OK rain. Not pouring but more than just a heavy drizzle. For the first 10min or so things were fine. But then after that I could start to feel my shoulders getting cold. I didn't know if it was just from the cold rain penetrating through or if some water was penetrating. Turns out it was a little of both. Almost everywhere there were seams on the hood, shoulders and the middle of the back was damp. Not soaked but still damp as you could see the color difference in the fabric as I looked at the seams when I took it off once inside. This surprised and disappointed me as it says the seams are taped so I didn't think that would happen. I also noticed that when the rain was on the jacket for a while it would get dark streaks on it like the water was soaking in instead of staying beaded up. Overall I like the jacket. It's relatively loose fitting, which I prefer, is long and light enough and has full mesh lining. My only complaints would be that the sleeves are a little too long and the pockets are made of the mesh and I'd rather they were solid material. I'll keep it and use it for the short trips in the rain but I'll be looking for another jacket that I can wear in the rain over a long period of time and not worry about water penetrating it.
