It's works like a charm!
I've tried a few systems, including a cheaper variant of this company's; ALL failed to perform until I tried the 4000 series. It's 900 feet from home to street end of driveway, a small hill and mature pine and spruce trees between transmitter and receivers in home, shop and barn. Once outdoor units were initially charged using the alarm indoor receiver adapter, the solar cells have been able to maintain charge on the batteries including 2 long harsh NW Wisconsin winters despite both facing west. Once I knew unit was working I did seal both IR outdoor transmitter and receiver with clear silicone sealer, including screw holes [easily removed if ever required]. I've used this now for several years without any failures to detect vehicles, pedestrians, bicycles and not a few deer! Caveat: top volume on receiver is too low for entire 4000sq-ft 3 story house unless in "Alarm" [like a siren] configuration.

Don’t wait to install them or turn them off if you do
The units were easy to set up and pair to each other and the receiver. The range is pretty good (I took them to my dads house last night to test on his half mile driveway, and they worked a couple hundred feet short once I had a clear line of sight to the house). However, when you set them up be sure to press the buttons on the back to turn them off if you aren’t going to install them right away. It will drain the battery on the “B” unit and they will no longer pair even though the B battery light comes on when you press it. After calling tech support this morning, I charged the B unit with the AC adaptor and they paired fine this afternoon. Word from the tech support guy is they need to be installed somewhere the solar panel will get at minimum 5 hours of direct sunlight each day to stay charged.

As advertised and good product only the receiver has stopped working after a few months
Bought in December 2020. The receiver that come with the original kit has already stopped working. Other wise all has worked very well and as expected up till now. Contacted customer support, they helped me get info to seller. However.... Its been several days and the seller has yet to contact me as customer support said they would. Still waiting. Not happy..

The power supply for the receiver died after 1 month
The sensors work great, setup was easy, but the power supply died after one month of use. Now makes me wonder how long the rest of the system will last.

Long range and NO false alerts!
We've had several other driveway alarms, and none were as good as the Dakota. The infrared ones are horrible for false alarms - shadows, sunlight and wind-blown leaves can trigger them. The Dakota has a break beam method that is just about perfect (it will alarm if a big deer ambles through, though). Installation isn't too bad - pairing takes a little practice, and finding the right location with places to mount the receiver and transmitter takes a little study, but once that's done they work like a charm. And they are virtually maintenance-free (I wash off the solar cells every few months).

Transformer limited range
the transformer that comes with the system not suitable for where i am situated. if they can provide a wider input range transfomer from 110-240V 50/60Hz, to made the product universal.

Worth it!
Works great but due to deer movement had to install in- ground unit also. Tall grass in area needed to be cut back, will give false indications. Always let's us know someone is coming. Installed about 500 ft away from house, never had an issue with signal.

Great product
These beams are very easy to install however if you do have an issue a quick call to their office and they will help you. Have had them for years with no issues. Highly recommend them and this company.
