Perfect Life Jacket for Kayak Fishing – Super Comfortable
I’ve been using the Onyx MoveVent Dynamic life jacket for kayak fishing, and it’s easily one of the best choices out there for paddlers. What really makes it perfect is the high-back design — there’s no thick padding on the lower back, so it doesn’t interfere with my kayak seat at all. I can fish for hours without feeling cramped or uncomfortable. The mesh lower back keeps it breathable, and it stays in place without riding up when paddling or casting. The front zipper, adjustable straps, and pockets are all well thought out too. It fits securely without restricting movement. If you’re kayak fishing or paddling with a high-back seat, this PFD is a game changer. Highly recommended.

Awesome vest but not Aqua
This is my second purchase of this vest. We bought it in purple first then ordered a second in aqua. The vest arrived today but it isn't aqua - more like a bright green. We'll keep it anyway but considering this was $10-$13 more than the other colors I am disappointed in not getting aqua. As for the vest, it is comfortable for kayaking as it doesn't bulk you up around the middle, all flotation material is around the chest and upper back. Easily adjustable too. Has a small pocket with an included attached whistle inside. The style is awesome and quite comfortable. Purple is a true purple. Aqua is more of a bright green.

Love it!
Perfect. The arm cutouts make it very comfortable to row without rubbing. We actually ordered 4 more.

It floats (with me in it)!
The fit on this item is a bit small, but it is fairly adjustable. Give yourself a little time to find the perfect fit with this before giving up on it, it will work, you just have to adjust it right. I use this vest while kayaking, and it took me a few test trips to get it situated so that it didn't get caught on my seat. This item is a bit bulky, so if you're looking for a low-profile life vest, you may want to consider a self/auto inflating vest or another flotation device. This does keep me afloat well, and the vest has a whistle in the zipper pocket on the user's right hand side below the chest. The whistle it tethered to the vest and conveniently clips onto the left side of the vest for easy access while wearing the vest. This vest does not breathe particularly well, which presents a challenge during hot weather. One should keep this in mind when doing activities that don't primarily involve being in the water, as overheating/being uncomfortable is highly possible. This vest is probably great for water skiing/wakeboarding, but for a kayaker like myself, I will probably look into purchasing another kind of vest for warmer weather.

Good fit
Haven't tried it in water yet, but the fit was very good. I measured my chest and picked the appropriate size off the chart, worked like a charm. Feels lightweight, has the ventilation areas, and range of motion seems really good. I'm in Georgia so hot weather is the norm in summer. We'll see how well I like it after a kayak trip or two...more to come.Update June 24, 2019: took a 4 hour kayak trip down the Chattahochee River, the vest was very comfortable even though I did have to unzip the front during smooth water to keep from getting too hot. The vents in the front are good in theory, but the padding is so thick that it closes on itself on the inside and stops air flow though. Still a nice vest though and worth the purchase.

Not fancy yet functional
Purchased this to use along with standup paddle board. It includes a whistle (which the coast guard requires) so a nice bonus. This PFD is adjustable and the M/L was just fine for me. Since I have not needed it to save my life, I can only comment that it is comfortable, adjustable and allows for complete range of motion needed to enjoy paddle board use. The front pocket is only big enough to hold the whistle for storage...not for iPhone or other similar sized items...maybe a few dollars or a credit card as long as kept in water proof bag. Though my journey was on a warm summer day, this PDF did not make me sweat! There are four accent colors from which to select. The base color is gray.

Safe, adjustable, affordable,comfortable.
Its a little bit bulkier than some of the more expensive ones that are more than twice the price, but not enough that it matters. It is well vented and i dont get hot while yaking the lakes of FL. Has multiple tabs for a custom fit. Tried it out on quick dip into pool and it definitely keeps my head above water if needed for its intended purpose...a life preserver. I hope this review will encourage more to buy/wear. My heart breaks every time I hear that someone drowned needlessly after falling out of a canoe or kayak. Three I've read or heard about in past year alone...so get it and wear it no matter how good a swimmer you are! So paddle on and be safe with this affordable option!💓🚣♀️

Great, comfortable paddle vest!
This is the first paddle vest I've owned, as I've only used traditional life jackets. It's easy to adjust and get a good fit. I use it paddleboarding and is comfortable and easy to move in whether I'm standing or sitting. The attached whistle in the pocket is great since I'm good at losing emergency whistles! I hate wearing life vests, but I have super low lung capacity currently and am concerned about being able to expend a lot of energy for long in an emergency situation. My first time with this jacket proved its worth and may have saved my life. I took an unexpected spill into frigid, choppy water and while I'm a decent swimmer, the cold water took my breath and energy quickly. Thanks to this vest, I was able to stay afloat through the multiple attempts it took to stabilize and get back on my board and keep my paddle from going downriver. I was also pleased to discover when I took the vest off, my sunglasses had been caught inside the vest and kept safe after thinking they had met their fate at the bottom of the river.
