Simpsons, The Season 19 DVD [2019]

1) Season itself- Surprisingly good! While there are a few weaker outings (smoke on the daughter), there are plenty of hidden gems here (eternal moonshine...).- Is it as good as the first 9 seasons? Of course not. They were legendary. Is anything going to be that good again? I don't know. As a stand alone and amidst some of the weaker seasons between 11 & 20, this is one of the best.2) Packaging- A lot better than previous seasons. DVDs much easier to extract than previous all-cardboard outings.- Very nice artwork (hand drawn style) over the interior of the box, DVDs and consequently on DVD menus. Would have been nice to have some explanation as to who the artist is, and why it was used included in the pamphlet, but that's small stuff!3) Extras- speaking of small stuff. Excellent inclusion of commentary as ever. I'm one of those sad people who likes to listen to the creators yammer on about their work, almost like a podcast, while I tidy etc.- One glaring omission was the lack of deleted scenes & other extras. This made me a little sad, as it's the first time we've had no deleted scenes, or hidden Easter eggs on DVD menus. Just a 20 second ad thanking fans for supporting the show.4) Overall- I'm just grateful they released it on DVD! A dying medium it may be, but I don't have to pay a rolling subscription to get the one show I like, amidst a few I may sort of enjoy, and a lot of rubbish.

Good season. It’s been ages since I felt this enthusiastic about the Simpsons - I sold season 18 after one viewing, but this season brought back the old fondness I had for the characters, especially Homer. Is it the best season? Probably not, the humour is a little absent in places and then slammed into your Face in others. Overall though, a decent outing that you should enjoy.The pictures show (1) the box a small it comes in the little quarter sleeve that makes up the bottom part of Homers face. The sleeve comes off to reveal (2) a Velcro opening to the front of the box set with a small note from Matt Groening (3) & (4) the box opens up to reveal the DVD sleeve container with the artwork and Episode description booklet and 4 DVDs. It might be hard to tell but in photo (4) you can see the top of the dvd just under the dinosaurs mouth. The DVDs came out fairly easily, especially compared to previous box sets.Basically a good season of the Simpsons that you should enjoy, with a nice quirky looking box. All I hope is that they release season 20 soon.

This is a brilliant boxset as the simpsons usually are. Commentary on every episode with a couple other added bonus features. The box art is wonderful. It’s all hand drawn and continues onto the discs and the menus. This also has a little book like opening on the box itself which has the message from Matt groening, which wasn’t present on the season 18 set.The only downside is that the box itself is a little fragile. In that it can easily be dented and definitely will bend when opened at the top. So just something to be a little cautious of.The episodes themselves are very entertaining. Yes it’s not the golden age. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t still a great fun watch. There are some crackers of episodes in this.So all in all. Worth picking up. Especially if you have the others

Absolutely could not wait when I heard they were finally going to release the 19th season! It’s been so long since the last simpsons Boxset and if like me you have collected them all then you have been hoping for season 19 for some time. This was the first season after the movie and the first couch gag clears up some of the confusion surrounding the mess we find Springfield in.We also get audio commentary on every single episode which gives some incredible behind the scenes stories on how the episodes were made.Let’s also talk about the amazing dvd cover and the incredible art work, this has to be the best Simpsons DVD to date and one every fan of The Simpsons should own!5 stars from me ❤️

"Seasons 1-9 were the best" blah blah blah. If you're inclined to ignore people who say this, some of whom are merely repeating what others say, and will give anything Simpson a try, season 19 is a pleasant surprise. The earlier seasons were of course better than the later, but there are many hilarious moments in the later ones, and some good stories too. Frankly, I'll keep buying em if they keep making em (though they keeping saying they won't issue any more dvds).

The Simpsons season 19 is a great season and was very entertaining. The DVD packaging is as usual in a carboard foldout. The artwork is interesting as it's in an unusual hand-drawn style. The DVD menu theme is the same. The DVDs have commentary on every episode but besides the introduction from Matt Groening, and a pathetic thank you feature, that is all we get. Every season package before has had multiple extras and deleted scenes. This has none of that. I'm not sure why they've decided to not include the usual extras but it is very disappointing. As a collector of every season, when I buy these DVDs I expect them to be worth the money I pay for them. Unfortunately, this is what lets this DVD boxset down. Can we please have more next time Fox?!

Great edition to the Simpsons collection, just need season 20 now.Bought previously from eBay but was a fake copy.

The love and care put into these Simpson DVDs are amazing, so happy they have released Season 19 with gorgeous and stunning artwork alongside the episode Eternal Moonshine of the Simpson Mind, what more could you ask for!? (Perhaps Season 20 with special features next please? :))
