Adventures in Serpantback Cave continue.
Series Info/Source: This is the fifth book in the Witch Hat Atelier series. I bought a copy of this book.Story (5/5): This continues the storyline started in Vol 4. Qifrey and his apprentices are journeying deep in Serpantback Cave when they find themselves surrounded by the cursed Romonons. Qifrey is grievously wounded and Euini has been turned into a scale wolf; how will this group get free of both the Romonons and the Brimmed Caps and finally escape? This was a very exciting and entertaining installment in this series. I love where the story is going and love all the new elements being brought into the story!Characters (5/5): I love how supportive all the characters are of each other in this series. Euini is an interesting new character and I am curious to see what happens with him in future books. Coco continues to learn how to work with her fellow apprentices and all of them are growing and learning throughout the series.Setting (5/5): Most of this volume takes place in Serpentback Cave which is a magical, mysterious, and creepy setting that I really enjoy. There is excellent world-building here and I love this fantasy world and all the interesting magic in it.Writing/Drawing Style (5/5): This is incredibly well written and the drawing throughout is beautiful, intricate and just amazing. I continue to be very impressed by the quality of this series! My Summary (5/5): Overall I loved this installment of Witch Hat Atelier just as much as previous installments. The illustration is stunning and I love the world-building, the amazing characters and magic too! This series is highly recommended to those who enjoy beautiful illustration paired with an exciting and magical fantasy story.

Teaching and Learning
'Witch Hat Atelier' continues to be very good; these two volumes are about another test for apprentice witches, more sinister revelations of the dark conspiracy swirling about them, and what it means to be taught, and different ways to learn. It's this last that I want to comment on, because one of the things I absolutely love about this manga is how much it cares about the process of teaching and learning, not just for the characters to get new powers, but to show how they can grow as a person and the ways that others around them can support (or not) that process. It's a thing I so often see ignored in stories with schools or teachers, where learning is either ignored by the students, or where they grow stronger or more knowledgeable despite what should be extremely counter-productive circumstances that are nevertheless regarded as brilliant and educational. This is a story that cares deeply about all its characters, and shows all the students as different people and different learners, and how their teachers try and reach out to them in way adapted to their circumstances - or they don't, and the story recognizes this as a bad thing. (And of course, the adult teachers have their own foibles too, and have to support each other through that.) Anyway, I just adore it, and I'm really looking forward to reading more.

A Masterpiece
STUNNING. I feel like I don’t have enough words for how beautifully written and illustrated this manga series is. No matter what genre you prefer, this will win you over in no time.

The plot gets real
This fast paced number moves the story forward in a huge leap. Lots of motivations are revealed and the characters grow immensely.
