Bars of Steel
What could go wrong? Not much really. Two 36 inch long, 1 inch diameter bars of steel. They do have a nice silvery/grey coating that I do not expect to hold up after being beaten by 2 pound horse shoes for a while. There are a number of ways to set these. They could potentially be driven into the ground for a ad lib game and then pulled up and used somewhere else another day. You would certainly need a heavy hammer and perhaps some channel locks and a small jack to pull them out.For a permanent playing field, I would dig a hole and set them in concrete. If I were to design them, I might point one end to make them easier to hammer in. I might put a quarter inch hole through the stake a couple of inches from one end to put a rod through so the stake would not rotate and be more secure if set in concrete. That's just me.Bottom line, they are regulation, solid and will probably last a few life times.

Solid
Perfect length , easy to set in concrete for solid hits.

End is not pointed
Stakes do not have a pointed end, so it is difficult to drive them into the ground. Weight and length are better than most of the others I looked at

Perfect for 5 gallon bucket setup
Just what I needed for my home pit. I ended up cutting about 4" off a 5 gallon bucket. Dig 6" trench to fit a 3' by 4' frame with 2x6 treated wood. Dig another hole within trench to sink the bucket so that the pole (in the bucket) is 15" above the frame Fill it up with concret and set the pole angled 15 degrees leaning forward. Let it cure (covered) a few days. Add weed liner and sand....and then grab a beer and clank some horseshoes with a friend.

Perfect just what I needed. No complaints except for dumb comments people posted on here
Perfect just what I needed. Dont know why everyone on here is saying that they rust from one game. Rust happens over time. It's very clear the posts are painted silver. It's just the paint chipping off that's it. So don't listen to the dumb comments about them rusting from one game. They obviously know nothing about rust. Def a good purchase just more expensive then they should be that's it. But more than happy
