Full sun & large bowl size needed to work effectively
Giving it 5 stars because I think it would be 5 stars given the right conditions. I didn’t read the description fully and didn’t realize that it wouldn’t work as soon as a shadow covers the solar cells…..so placing the birdbath in full sun to get it to work = hot water. Also, as someone else noted, more sun = more powerful spray….which means the water sprays out of the birdbath and you’re left with an empty birdbath (of course, depending on the size of the birdbath bowl). Will try the suggestion to take the spray nozzle off altogether. In the meantime I just double-sided taped the unit to the bottom of the bowl and got less spray (which seems like it will work if the Gorilla tape holds). I had also tried covering up a couple of the solar cells to see if that would make for a smaller spray, but the unit didn’t work when I did that). Will have to find something else to use in dappled sun.

Works all day and is easy to use
The perfect touch for your bird bath! I love that it comes with different nozzles to choose from. It’s not noisy at all and is easy to use and assemble. The water shoots all day and is strongest m during peak sun hours. One thing to keep in mind is to measure your bird bath! I ended up buying a bird bath that was a bit smaller and the water would shoot out of it until I changed nozzles.

Pretty cool! Great in theory, but caveats await...
Item works as stated and is pretty cool, actually. But just be aware...It only works in 100% sunshine. There is no battery or power retention, so when the sun goes behind a cloud or early in the morning or in the evening, or on cloudy days, it doesn't work. If you pass your hand above it, the stream drops precipitously. (pun absolutely intended)And...The water evaporates/spills from the basin very quickly (in my arid climate), so be sure your basin has a large volume if you want it to run all day (if it dries up, you risk burning up the pump, and you have pool floaty). I keep a couple of gallon jugs of water next to it to refill it during the day. It's a bit of up keep.Final note: to keep it centered in your basin, it has four, little, adjustable arms that attach. The diameter of my basin (12"?) was too small to attach the arms, so my fountain moves all over, changing the spray pattern and spitting water on the surrounding flower pot. Not unpleasant, but not great either. I just have to refill the basin AT LEAST twice a day on a sunny day.If you have (stagnant) water that needs to be "stirred," (stock tanks, kiddie pools, etc) that is in a sunny place, this could be ideal for you.It is fun to watch and sounds lovely. Just more upkeep than I was hoping for, so I only use it periodically now. Still glad I got it, though.

This little gizmo is so cool!
There is very little to do to it - fit the 4 little bumpers on and select what type of fountain appearance you want and stick it in water. It worked immediately, I was so surprised. I have it in our birdbath. The only downside, and it is strictly appearance, the four little things are not shown in the picture. The keep it from emptying out your water container, they're not ugly, just an unknown. I bought two and may buy more as gifts. Excellent!

I love this thing! A lovely fountain on patio!
I love this thing! The little fountain makes my patio and flowers so l o v e l y! It sits in a bird bath that I have hanging on a shepherd's hook, and it is just wonderful! I don't have any birds enjoying yet, but I enjoy looking at it a lot and someday hopefully birds will come. This little gadget seems well built but I don't know that for sure, it's easy to use, and comes with several fountain styles so you can choose your preference. They're easy to swap out. I do have an issue that the water blows away and/or evaporates so I have to keep filling the bird bath. I will try to find a deeper bird bath. I put stones on the solar sensors when I want less water pressure. All in all, I really like this. It really adds a lot to the patio. Highly recommend so far.

Not working
I loved the idea of using this in a medium saucer that I use as a birdbath in my garden. It came nicely packaged but was missing one of the white pieces that I assume hold it steady. Also the water flow is a little too high for the purpose I wanted. It empties the water quickly out of the saucer and then randomly stops working. I’ve been having a hard time getting it to stay working no matter how deep the water is.

Hard water buildup in pump motor
The item came when promised and it works ok. I found if you put the spray nozzles on, the wind will blow the water away and you need to refill the birdbath frequently. The legs don't quite keep the pump in the center of the birdbath. Both minor issues. After two weeks, it stopped working (ironically the same day the bill came in my email). A check revealed a very heavy calcium buildup in the pump and on the solar cells. I was able to remove the deposits in the pump (it pulls apart to get inside) and cleaned off the solar cells with vinegar (mild acid). I have the option to use a faucet that is connected to the water softener to refill the birdbath. For now, all is good.

Cute little fountain for the birds!
I feel bad for the seller, since I wanted to return it due to not being able to assemble it properly which is totally my fault. I got refunded, but the item now is working. It works well and for this small amount of money is quite remarkable. It has different settings and you can customize the streams. Very cute and I see birds are already attracted!
