Kalles Kaviar 3-Pack

The caviar is very good but during shipment one tube was slightly punctured and contents seeped out so I had to dispose of it. Puncture appears to be from packing.

I sit here staring at three tubes of Kalles Kaviar, wondering if this is some sort of joke about the transient nature of seafood products. If this review were merely about the kaviar itself, I'd be writing a five-star love letter about how it transforms humble crispbread into a transcendent experience. But it's not. It's about Amazon's apparent belief that fish roe shares the same temperature requirements as a paperback novel.I imagine the bacteria having a party in there. Salmonella is probably the DJ, while E. coli works the door and Clostridium botulinum makes questionable cocktails that nobody asked for. They're all living their best lives in the "danger zone" (40°F-140°F), which sounds less like a food safety metric and more like the temperature range where my life choices come into question.You see, I want to love this kaviar. I want to spread it on crispbread and pretend I'm having I'm having breakfast at my mom's köksbord. Instead, I'm left contemplating how many hours per food poisoning incident I'm willing to risk. The answer, surprisingly, isn't "many." Not even "demoralisingly many."Why do we look down on people who wear their desire for properly refrigerated seafood products on their sleeve? It's a mystery to me. When I was younger, I might have been adventurous enough to try room-temperature fish eggs, but therapy has taught me that setting boundaries with potentially toxic relationships includes those with improperly shipped perishables.In my minds I hear my therapist say, sometimes the simplest solution is an ice pack. Just one ice pack.But I'm no longer young, and ChatGPT's essay about heat-stable toxins made me realize some forms of bravery are just poorly disguised self-destruction.Five stars for the product itself, minus four stars for the microscopic horror show potentially brewing within, minus an additional star for making me confront my mortality through the medium of unrefrigerated seafood. I'd rate it lower if I could, but apparently, existential dread doesn't factor into Amazon's rating system.P.S. If anyone needs me, I'll be at the Urgent Care.​​​​

Omg!!! I was raised on this as my mom is Swedish and my grandma (mormor) would send it to us for Xmas! It is absolutely delicious and love it soooo much!!!

I've ordered this product many times including a few times from this vendor and love it. Had the first time when I was in Sweden back in the 90's and am so happy I can get it on line. Quality has always been exceptional and haven't had issues with damaged tubes etc. and Im up in Alaska where we expect stuff to often be in rough shape by the time it arrives.

My 1 star review is for how the product was received, not the caviar itself. I love this product, hence why I ordered three tubes. This product is supposed to be refrigerated. I received it in a normal box, no ice, on an 85 degree day , packed with regular items. I’m afraid to eat it. Not sure it was even stored properly before shipping .

Good item, but price raised by $10 in one monthNot good !

This is my second order, because I love this stuff. I used to buy it at Ikea, but they no longer have it. My first order was awesome. My second order, at least one if not two of the tubes leaked and they were a sticky mess. The third tube seems OK, which was good for my mom's birthday party. Amazon gave me a refund, so I'm happy and I'll order again, but I hope this doesn't happen again. The tubes did not seem damaged so I don't think it was an Amazon problem.
