EDIT: It took a day but the fragrance did finally go beyond the tree branches. Actually had to take three of them out as it got stronger than I wanted. So - good choice!EARLIER: I hung 6 of these on the tree and while they smell great out of the package, the smell doesn't permeate into the room. You have to be within 2 inches to get the scent. Not worthwhile if you're looking to get real tree smell on your fake tree.

These are strong. We cut one stick in half to place it in the tree. It also doesn't smell like a fresh pine tree. It smells good, just not quite the same as a Scotch Pine Christmas tree. These will last us for several years.

These definitely can be smelled on the tree. I myself think when the lights are turned on, the odor gets stronger. We have an average sized room and put one stick in the tree. You can really pick up the scent with just one of them on the tree. Worth the money for sure.

The scent doesn't last long. I was disappointed with that.

Not 1 star but 0 stars!! Highly disappointed in this purchase. The item states 6 sticks in the container. I received only 4 sticks wrapped in a plastic bag. It was not even in the correct container nor were there any hangers. This was totally 7nacceptable for the price.
