Make sure you have Resident Services(Town Hall), then you are able to use the card. How to use: 1. Go to the Nook Stop terminal in the Town Hall 2. Select the penultimate option, "Invite a Camper" 3.Hold up the card to the NFC touch point on the right thumb stick of your controller when indicated 4.Hold it there until the game registers it 5.Depending on the amiibo, the game will inform you of any changes or rewards that you can now collect. Card works only with original joy cons.
This amibo card definitely works. Only tip I have is my kids original switch had stick drift on one of the controllers so I ended up buying them new after market controllers. I did notice that the card did not work with the after market controllers and my kids had to use the original joy cons to make the amibo card work. Hope this helps.

Basically like many other people I was super skeptical about whether or not I was going to get what I paid for because it's always kind of a gamble when buying alternate versions of stuff and it's a pretty cheap price comparatively so I was like.... hmmm.... maybe? And at the very least I was ready for a nice card to look at if nothing else. But the Marshal card is exactly as promised and super cute too! It's hard plastic (like they said, it's waterproof lol) but it WORKS like any other amiibo card! I was so surprised and delighted! Also? It was supposed to arrive on September 1st and I got it on August 28th so they are correct that it seems to ship out quickly.I can now have my super soft squishy squirrel boy on my island! Thank you SO much!

Sooo happy! I’ve been wanting marshal for ages!- this amiibo card works! When you scan the 4 dots on the card at Resident Services, marshal visits the campsite. You have to make something for him 3 days in a row AND invite him 3 days in a row. Then, he moves in!- marshal filled an empty home I had when Muffy happened to move out the day before, so I can’t speak for what it’s like to replace a villager with him if you have a full island already.- marshal is cute and quirky!! I love him. Worth the money to get closer to my perfect island village!
