Did exactly what it needed too
I bought this to remove a large 3 inch internal snap ring on a steering column. The tool is really well made with good machining quality. Did exactly what I needed it to do. I tried going cheap and getting a chinesium tool and ended up spending more then I needed. Do yourself a favor and just buy this tool if you have big snap rings you have to tackle.

Long reach. Great tool.
Used it to remove and install the snap ring on the intermediate shaft on a 2013 Mercedes-Benz E350 4matic. There is very limited access to this snap ring and you definitely need a long reach tool like this one. Tried a GearWrench long reach tool first but that was a joke.

All other brands are inferior
I've tried numerous brands of snap ring pliers over the years and the differences in quality are remarkable. Knipex makes some seriously well made snap ring pliers. I'll never want or need any other brand in my lifetime. They feel really solid in my hand. The hinge has just enough resistance when opening and closing. Which makes performing finite operations a breeze. I used these to remove circlips in a Ford 8.8. Highly recommend.

for heavy duty jobs
Needed this to remove a turbo snap ring. Most normal snap ring pliers were either too small or too weak to handle the task. Nothing available locally could work. This tool made easy work of it and at a very reasonable cost. Highly recommended quality tool, made in Germany I believe.

Never turn back
I had purchased a cheap pair of interchangeable head ring pliers. Bad choice! They flexed so much that they were useless. With the work I do on bicycle suspension I needed a solid pair of ring pliers. These are excellent. The tips are a little long for my application but these are solid and work so much better. I'll now look to Knipex for other wrench style tools.

Pretty good...
These pliers are massively superior to the awful harbor fright interchangeable jaw craptacular thingies we all seem to start out with for whatever reason, likely because the latter are super cheap. Unfortunately, those cheap sets rarely and barely work, and don't fit where we need them to, like in between ACVW jugs ferinstance, so we decide to buy real circlip pliers to pull our piston ring retainers, no matter the cost, no matter the infrequency of the job... Eventually, we land here. We buy these. For the price, $22+ in 2019, I'd expect them to be ultra super awesome, and they are not quite that... Solid enough, functional enough. Best I've found lately, to be fair... Not beautiful, not "German," not very precise, not that well made, not carefully finished and awesome in the way old German tools used to be, but whatever. It's 2019. Global capitalism rules, and thus quality dies everywhere. I guess lame "German" pliers are just part of the game now. Odds are, you're personally losing that game, but if you're "winning" then enjoy it. I guess. If eating cake while quality is obliterated everywhere sounds like fun to you, you sound like a sociopath to me... And all pliers everywhere apparently suck now, thanks to your greed, but yeah, live it up while you can... Sorry. Got off track a bit... So yeah, buy these if you must, but you'd do better to look for old tools at estate sales, tools made way back when quality actually meant something... Goodnight and good luck.

Its sturdy and just the right length for the job
Looks like it will last a good while. It is sturdy and just the right size prongs I was looking for. I.Would recommend highly. Somethings are just worth the higher price. No complaints.
