It was simple, but managed to be fun
Most of these LitRPG/Post Apoc tales follow some rather simple rules. This one doesn't stray much from the basics although it does start long after the initial start of the changes. By the time we reach page 1 we are years in the future and humanity is barely surviving after the monsters drove them underground. Now a desperate woman on a last ditch journey to provide food for the people sheltering in one cave rediscovers just how humanity fought back.Of course it involved killing monsters for power and then leveling up skills with that power. Add in a very punishing alchemy system and you have a high intensity story. it actually was interesting as poor Avery kept running into monsters with greater and greater power. There were elements that I have issues with (see after conclusion - Spoilers), but overall the story manages to flow and keep interest despite the character development being largely ignored. It doesn't try to be more and in the end I felt happy enough to finish the tale.So its a low 4 star for me. Better than many in the genre. I can't call it an instant classic, but I enjoyed it.Spoilers after this point. My main issue was some of the discoveries about Venators. It was kept until act 3, but it felt almost lifted from the manga Claymore where someone who gains too much power ends up turning on their own. The heroine here vows to stop it (in a future volume), but I ended up just not liking this plot twist. I can't easily pin down my complaint. I know part of it is the dehumanizing of a character that is implied. It also felt like it was there to provide intensity to the plot when there were enough obstacles in the way of the heroine. I'm not saying that I won't try book 2, but this reduced my interest.I also had a smaller dislike of just how hostile and negative many of the humans were. Even when offered fair compromises or even unfair ones in their favor too many of the authority figures in this tale did dumb things. I'd like to see more characters who work together rather than turn into instant problems because the plot appears to demand it.

Good story
The female hero doesn't start out as a hero , it happens accidentally and then she learns from her new mentor who is a ghost more about how to use the abilities and gain more. However she finds out that there is a catch to all the power she is gaining. She kills off all the monsters in the area of her village and the other village she saved then as the two villages merge recruitment starts for new hunters as the only thing preventing them from returning to the surface is a boss creature known as Midland whom is a titan

Interesting setting
So good book and definitely want more. The book is set in an earth that seems to have had a calamity that unleashed monsters into the world. Humans learned to harvest the monsters for blood points to empower themselves and protest the rest. There all gone and this story is about a new one starting over... Accidentally. There is a lot of room for growth in this series and the first book did not drop everything about the new world so there should be more fun down the road. I look forward to more.

I love this book
Can I just say wow what a breath of fresh air. This is definitely a different take on this genre and they knocked it out of the park. I honestly couldn't put this book down my wife had to make me. It seemed a tiny bit rushed on the character build for a bit but then it worked itself out by the end. Like she says in a world of the blind one eye is queen. Not perfect recount but good enough. Give this book and these Author's a shot I believe you will be pleased.

Great book and wonderful start
Within the first handful of pages a world was created. Who the main character was. How the world got to where it was and humanity's place in that post-apocalyptic environment. Started fast and exciting and my interest in what came next never faltered.

Super
Start was a little slow, but as with every book by the author I knew the good stuff are coming. Abd they did. Smooth on sitting cruise followed by buying the Next 3 books. Sorta regret not buying all four from the get-go.

A unique spin
One must be careful when fighting the monsters. You may become the monsters you fight. Most of what happens is a little obvious coming. But, it is a good story.

A litrpg that actually does something different and interesting
A lot of the litrpgs I’ve read tend to follow the same formulaThere in some vrmmo and are usually one of the normal classes think rouge necromancer or some such and don’t even get me started on how they struggle to contrive some stakes but this book takes things in a new direction blood points are far more interesting then exp Avery can use them to ether purchase small upgrades or save them for something big.to prevent this from getting to long I will just say1 every fight is life and death no boring fights with goblins where the main character is guaranteed to win2 every monster Avery kills gives her something useful no boring grinding just fast paced and rewarding action. And 3 no HareemSo to summarise this book does something new and fun so if you like litrpg but are bored of the generic classes give this a try

Interesting take on Monster Hunting

Great idea ruined by terrible lack of common sense
I really, really wish I could rate this well. It has awesome concepts and ideas, but every single character interaction is just so stupid. It's like every time two characters interact, they lose all common sense. The main character is logical, smart, and learns quickly when hunting and making choices on her own, but add someone else and she becomes an idiot, and everyone else is also an idiot, despite obviously having had to make solid decisions before in a world so difficult to survive in. It really sucks, because the monster hunting is solid, with neat monsters and progression of the MC, it's just such a shame that character interaction is beyond frustrating.

Super easy read
Loved it. Was super easy to read and a bit different to the regular litRPGs I’ve been reading. I would recommend it for anyone who knows the genre and needs something light between heavier reads

A good read
A good read, I found the MC a little on the stupid noble side. But when she wasn’t being silly the story really perked up.
