Genji Sports Anti-UV Ultra Light Pop Up Sun Shelter, Apple Green

I purchased this for a trip because our hotel wanted an insane amount of money to rent umbrellas or beach chairs per day. I carried this on the plane for a trip to Honolulu and placed it in the overhead compartment with no issues. It is not heavy and I found it very easy to assemble. It seriously just pops right up! It's large enough for two children to be in or two thin adults. It has plastic anchors which we found very helpful to avoid it being blown away. It wasn't hard to put back in it's case if you are used to handling car window shades that operate the same way. Did we get it perfect every time? NO! But we got it in there EVERY time!

I like this tent for the beach. Sets up easily but takes a few tries to twist it back into the bag. It's a bit tight for 2 people to get out of the sun. What we did was use a towel on our legs to get out of all the sun. I like the color and other people thought it looked interesting. It's nice when you need a break during a cloud-less day. It was also good to put your valuables in the far back where no one can see them and they are not easily accessable to others while your off enjoying the water.

...Steer clear of this one. I spent about 45 minutes trying to figure out how to collapse this tent, and put it back in its bag. The instructions came with a link to a video for another tent, so I had to search out a video for this model. This in itself shows a lack of caring by the company to provide adequate guidance. Even after finding the correct video for this model, I could not get the thing to fold back. So, I searched out the phone number for the company, and spent more than 20 minutes, over three phone calls with them talking me through it. Still no luck, and I am not technically inept. I gave it an extra star because when it's open, it does have a nice form factor.

So this is a great product but there is no clear instructions on how to close it! There are directions but they are cryptic. There is a video online but it isn't for this exact model so its confusing. I will continue to use it but I will also continue to dread putting it back in the bag lol.

This is a great beach tent. Compact when folded but spacious when set up. My kids loved it as soon as I set it up and it was compact enough that I was able to fit it in our one checked bag on top of everything when we flew to Hawaii. Once you learn how to fold it up, it's a quick 15 seconds to fold up. The sun coverage is pretty good, my two year old was able to take his naps here so we could stay at the beach all day without going back up to our hotel and it was enough coverage to get out of the sun while the mesh windows let in the breeze so it wasn't hot inside.

Can't fold it back up! Just took it out of the packaging for the first time today and it popped open just fine, but it was a disaster trying to get it back into the original pouch. Tried to follow the directions that came with it but too cryptic and pictures didn't match. Went to the online site listed with the directions but it was for the wrong model. Then went on youtube to find directions and found a video but when I attempted to fold it, the rod broke with a sharp end then protruding out of the nylon sleeve. Didn't even get a chance to try it outside. I have managed to get it squeezed back into the box it came in and have already arranged for a return of the defective item. I d. on't plan on replacing it with another pop up version. Now investigating other sun shelters with more traditional set-up

Rather large when you actually open it up - well ventilated, well built. My only issue is that the little circular package you see in the picture is actually rather large. It barely fits in the largest suitcases - so it becomes a not insignificant hassle when traveling with it. We live in a tropical climate, and use it locally now - but we'll think twice before traveling with it in the future unfortunately.

So pleased with this tent!! It was so easy to put up and just as easy to take down. After reading negative reviews about the take down I was nervous about my purchase so I searched and eventually found this video from the manufacturer for this EXACT model. --> http://youtu.be/Lqbnhj59BoY <-- Having watched this video I knew exactly how to fold the tent down and it took 5 seconds and only one try each time I took it down. It provided great shade and a nice place for my young sons to nap and have lunch on the beach. Looking forward to future beach trips and using our tent again!
